This is an Internal Cricket tournament for the MongoDB employees
Registration: All participating teams must register on the Cricheroes app before the tournament.
Format: The tournament will be played in a box cricket format with 7 (players) 1 (substitute) 1 (female player) per team.
Innings: Each innings will consist of 7 overs for a league matches, 8 overs for Semis & Finals
Umpire's Decision: The decision of the umpires will be final.
Bowling Limit: A maximum of 2 overs can be bowled by only one player(2 2 2 1), while the rest can bowl 2 or fewer overs each for the league matches, For Semis & Finals, A maximum of 3 overs can be bowled by only one player(3 2 2 1), while the rest can bowl 2 or fewer overs each
Bowling Action: Jerk, Throw, and Underarm actions are not allowed. Only proper bowling actions will be allowed. If the batsman claims Jerk, Throw, or Underarm, and if umpires confirm the claim, the bowlers will be changed immediately. The ball from which the claim is made will be considered as a no-ball.
Scoring Boundaries: Only shots hit straight will count as 4 or 6 runs. Hits to leg or offside nets will earn 2 runs if hit directly, otherwise runs must be completed by running. Balls hit outside the nets(leg or offside nets) are considered OUT. Runs that hit the net behind the stumps will be given only 1 run
No Balls Hip no balls and grease no balls will result in one run plus an extra ball (free hit). Wide balls will earn one run plus an extra ball.
For the free hit: If the batsman hits the ball over the fence, it’s considered as 2 runs on the leg side and off side. If it’s hit straight, it’s scored as either a 6 or a 4.
Powerplay: The first 2 overs of each innings will be a powerplay, with only one fielder allowed on the straight boundary line. After 2 overs, a maximum of 3 fielders will be allowed near the straight boundary line.
Awards : Player of the Match will be awarded for each match, decided by the referee. Player of the Series, Best Bowler - Purple Cap (based on maximum wickets), Best Batsman - Orange Cap (based on maximum runs), and Best Fielder (based on maximum catches) will also be awarded. Trophies will be given to the winner and runner-up teams.
Tiebreakers:
- In case of a tied match, a super over consisting of 1 over per team will be played.
- If the super-over also ends in a tie, another super-over will be scheduled.
- If the second super-over is also tied, a bowlout will take place. Each team will have 3 bowling options to hit the stumps. (proper bowling action only be allowed)
- If the bowlout is also tied, the team with the maximum boundaries (including 4s and 6s) throughout the match will be declared the winner."
Extras: Overthrows will be counted as runs and added to the total.
Leg Byes: No runs will be added if the ball hits the leg pad.
Impact Player Rule: If a batting team has a strong batting lineup, they can use the batsmen in the 1st innings and keep 1 player outside, taking the bowlers (impact player) in the 2nd innings.
Additional Rules:
- For the finals, the match will be played on full ground, and there won't be any outs in the legside or offside
- Regarding the “one tip one hand” rule: It’s not considered out."
