Thursday Turf League Season 2 (TTL) Rules & Regulations

TTL Season 1 will be played on 21st April, 2024

We want all Teams and Team players to play matches with Full Spirit and in a friendly manner. 

Play to Play and not just to Win. Outside the field we are still family and friends. No disrespect of any players / teams on or outside the field. Please!!!

1. Every team will get a chance to play against all the other 3 teams. (3 matches each for the league table). As per schedule

2. After the league games, it will be as per IPL format. We will explain during the Auction

3. Points Table, Run Rate, Average, etc will be decided only by the CricHeros App. So, no decision is personal. Man Of the Match, MVP, etc will be decided by the committee. 

Rules for Match 

1. Out of 10 players, 1 Keeper, 1 Bowler, Minimum 3 players before the stumps, 2 players behind the stumps and before the Line, maximum 3 players at the Boundary

2. Top Roof touch will be NOT OUT in all overs and all matches. Ball touching the Top NET will be a NOT Out. But it can be caught down after touching the Top net and player will be declared OUT. Also, if the Ball touches the TOP Net and hits boundary it will be FOUR and not SIX. 

3. Total of 7 over match will be played against every team. And Maximum 10 players in a Team to play as per team decided by Auction

4. 7 bowlers will bowl 7 overs. No bowler will be allowed to repeat the over. 

5. In all the matches of full tournament 1st 3 batsmen (Opener, Non-Striker and one down) cannot Bowl in that match. If not followed a penalty of 10 runs will be imposed on that Team. And still the pair needs to be changed as per Rules. This needs to be informed by the Capt. / Player of opposite team before the 2nd ball of the over is being delivered. It will not be an Umpire / Committee call unless being pointed by opposite team.

6. Umpires’ decision will be final decision. Only Captain can come and discuss anything with Umpire. Else Umpires will have full rights to disqualify a player who comes and argues apart from Captain. Also, no Wrong or continues arguments after umpires’ decision will be accepted even if it from Captain side. No wasting time in arguments. Umpire is liable to give warning to any players in case of Arguments, and repeated arguments or In discipline may also lead to disqualification of that player for that particular match and team will have to play with short of that player. No replacements

7. When it is a NO ball or NOT a NO ball

A. When it is a No Ball

• When a batter is in the crease and ball bounces twice or more before

reaching the crease it is No ball.

• When batter is in the crease and ball is fulltoss above waist level then it is a No ball

• When batter is out of the crease but ball bounces twice before batter it is a No ball

• When batter is out of the crease and ball is fulltoss above the Head

B. When it is a Not a NO Ball

• If batter is out of crease and ball's second bounce is after the batter

but before the crease, then it is not a no-ball

• If batter is out of crease and ball is fulltoss below shoulder level then

• If batter is in the crease and ball bounces on 2nd tap inside the crease,

• then it is not a no-ball

Other rules standard as per rules. Any rules not clear, Batsmen / bowler have to ask before the ball is bowled. After the ball is bowled and attempted the ball will be counted as a normal Bowl

8. Bowling to be done within the box line only. Back Line and Both side Lines Leg touch is NO Ball. For Front Line only if Full leg is going outside, It will be a NO Ball

9. Any bowl if felt fast only the batsmen have to tell. And the bowl speed will be decided and discussed by the Umpires only and no one else. There will be no warning for any fast ball as per Umpires decisions and will be NO ball

10. Every inning to be completed in stipulated time only.

11. Committee to be the final judge of any situation

12. No free hit after No-ball

13. Next match toss will happen during break of first match to avoid time delay. 

14. Keeper should not collect the Ball before the Stumps. It will be counted as a NO Ball.

15. In case of a Match tie 1 point each team in a league match and super over in Semi & Final Match Only will be played between 2 teams. One Bowler and 3 batsmen needs to be announced by both teams before the start of the Super Over. Last Team done batting will Bat first in the Super Over. Only super over will decide match result if it’s a tie again. Two wickets are allowed for each batting team in the Super Over. If the batting team loses both wickets early, then their innings ends.

16. Stump fallen down by bowler either by hand or leg while bowling the ball will be marked as no ball.

17. Mankand is allowed. Any player getting out by Mankand will be declared as OUT

18. Scores by Umpires will be declared only after every Over and not in between the Over

19. Side Arm bowling above waist and full hand swing bowl is not allowed. Umpire can give No Ball

20. Hand gloves will be allowed only during the batting. If a player is found wearing hand gloves if during the bowling or fielding it will be counted as a NO ball. And for this any player / Team etc. too can inform the Umpire for the same if found. 

Other Rules

1. It is duty of the team captain to assemble his team at the scheduled time. In case on the match day if any player cannot be on time, then that particular match will be played by short of that player and no replacement would be allowed. In case of any injuries to player during the match, there would be no replacement / Runner for the same.

2. New ball will be used for each inning of every matches. In case if a ball is lost in 1st over of the inning only then a new ball will be provided, after 1st over it will be replaced with a used ball of previous innings

3. Every captain needs to assign one player from their team, who will update the scoreboard, apart from the umpire.

Food and Water

1. Each Captain will be provided with food coupons and he can distribute along with his team. 

2. Any guest coming to see the match and want to have food packet. They can pay pre decided amount and get the food coupon. 

3. There will be Big size Bin bags made available on the Venue so as a disciplined member we will request to throw all sort of garbage only in those Bin Bags.

4. We will not Entertain any player if found Drunk / Intoxicated on the field. Committee members have full rights to disqualify that player
