The intent

The intent of conducting the Parents Cricket Leagues is not only to bring back our old memories but also to demonstrate our endearing support to Loyola School Management, Teachers, Non-teaching staff, Uncles, Aunties, and above all exhibiting our unconditional love to our kids.
Through these friendly matches, we will be showcasing the true value of sportsmanship, and team bonding and demonstrate how important it is to play a game, enjoy it and not worry about the outcome. 
Come, let us celebrate these special days and make a lasting memory in the minds of all who would witness this event.    
   
Tournament Rules - General
  • April 14 will be considered as a Reserve Day for the matches.
  • Only Loyola parents can participate in the tournament.
  • The umpires’ decision will be final. Players are advised not to challenge the umpire in a rude manner. If so, they would be disqualified from playing in the matches.
  • CricHeroes App will be used for scoring and players should have a verified profile with photo uploaded for easy identification.
  • All match statistics will be available via CricHeroes.
  • Tennis balls of the Famex brand will be used.
  • New balls will be used in each innings.
  • In the event when the ball goes missing within the first 5 overs (or 50% of the innings), a replacement would be made with a new ball. 
  • In the event when the ball goes missing after the 6th over (more than 50% of the innings), then a replacement would be made with an available old ball.
  • If the lost ball is found, the game would be continued using the same ball.
  •  No power-play or field restrictions will be applied in the Tournament.
  • The length of the wickets would be 20 yards (wicket to wicket).
  • Players should not engage in verbal duels. If so, they would be disqualified from playing in the matches basis on the decision of the Umpires.
  • League matches will be conducted in 2 sessions (morning and evening) considering the current climatic conditions.
  • Team captains must ensure timely availability and participation of the respective team members for the successful completion of matches on time. 
  • During the league stage, in the event of rain or unforeseen situation, where the match has to be abandoned, one point will be awarded to each team. 
  • Each winning team will be awarded 2 points in the league stages.
  • In case two or more teams within the Pool have same point, net run rate would be considered to decide the Pool Winner.

Bowling Rules:

  • Each innings of a match will have a maximum of 10 overs. 
  • For each match, an individual bowler can bowl a maximum of 2 overs in the normal scenario. If overs are reduced to 8 (due to rain or unforeseen situations) maximum of 3 bowlers can bowl 2 overs. Similarly, if overs are reduced to 6 one bowler would be allowed to bowl 2 overs.
  • There will be no free hit for no-ball. Other rules like overthrows and byes will be applicable.
  • There will not be any LBW decisions and hence no Leg byes will be offered. Umpires can correct the batter’s standing based on the request from the captain or bowler.
  • 1 bouncer per over is allowed and second bouncer will be considered a no-ball.
  • The decision on “Legal ball” and bowling actions will be under the discretion of the umpires.

Batting Rules:
  • If the ball touches the trees near the boundaries (directly without touching the ground), it will be declared as Six runs. 
  •  The last man won’t be able to bat alone irrespective of the team size.

Tie Breaker Rules:
  • In League matches, if a match is officially declared as a "tie", both teams will be rewarded 1 point each.
