Rules
Dear Colleagues/Friends,
It gives us great pleasure to invite you all to the Cricket tournament.
GENERAL RULES
• The tournament is of a knockout format (8 Teams)
• Teams can play with 8 players minimum 2 girls compulsory.
• Each Knock out match will be 6 overs.
• All the matches will be played with a single soft tennis ball.
• A player cannot play in more than one team.
• The umpire’s decision will be binding and final. No argument will be entertained with the umpire.
• Arguments with umpire will lead to player/team disqualification.
• Ball directly falling outside the nets will be given OUT.
BATTING RULES
• 6 runs will be awarded if ball directly hits the net exactly opposite to the batsman (straight)
• 4 runs will be awarded if the ball hits the net exactly opposite to the batsman after taking one or more bounce on ground or net bounce (straight)
• 1 run will be awarded if the delivery is a wide ball.
• 1 run will be awarded if the delivery is a no ball. Free hit will be awarded on the ball followed by no ball.
• Byes and leg byes will also be taken into consideration.
• If the ball hits anywhere within the nets, except for boundaries, the team has to run.
BOWLING RULES
• Each bowler can bowl maximum of 1 over.
• Bowling with run up is not allowed.
• Bowling style will be overarm with feet inside the box (Throw)
• A minimum of 1 over to be bowled by a Girl for each team.
• Bowling For Boys- No Raising of Feet or No Bending of Knees. Else No ball will be Given.
• Bowling For Girls- Raising of feet or Bending of Knees is Permitted
• Usual No ball, Wide ball, Byes and Overthrow will be applicable.
• Bowler bowling directly above waist will be given No ball.
• Fast bowling is not allowed. (SPEED TO BE JUDGED BY THE UMPIRE and WARNING MAY BE GIVEN. No bowling / batting team can appeal for fast ball).
• Any deviation from the above rules will be given a NO ball.
• The decision of umpire will be final and binding.
MODES OF DISMISSALS
• Catch out (Net bounce will not be counted for catch out)
• Bowled
• Stumped Out
• Run out
• Only run out and Stumping on Free hit.
• If keeper collects ball before it passes the stumps for the stumping, then stumping will not be valid, and it will be a no ball.
