All games will be played as per the standard laws of cricket i.e. MCC Laws of cricket (as amended) unless otherwise stated in
the tournament rules and guidelines mentioned below:
1. MATCHES
1) Each team shall consist of maximum of Seven (7) players.
2) A match consists of a maximum of 8 Overs per inning.
3) The matches will be played in 2 Pool. Best two teamsfrom each pools with maximum points will qualify for the ‘Semi
Finals’.
4) 1
st Semi Final will be played between Team No 1 and Team No 4 of the league matches. While the 2
nd Semi Final will
be played between Team No 2 and Team No 3 of the Semi Finals. Winners of the Semi Finals will play the Final.
5) Matches will be played with soft cricket Ball (Vicky Green).
2. NUMBER OF PLAYERS PER TEAM
Only 7 players are permitted to play in each game. The 7 players nominated to play in the game should be declared to the
scorer before the commencement of the game.
3. EXTRAS
i. Any runs scored from a ‘No ball’ or ‘Wide’ ball (Coming off the Bat/Byes) will be credited as per the MCC rules.
ii. Batsman will not be given out in case of ‘Leg Before Wicket (LBW)’.
4. BATTING
1) A Batsman will be retired after scoring 40 runs in an inning. Any runs scored by him/her when he/she is on his/her
personal 39 runs, shall be added to his score. Ex: if a batsman scores ‘2 runs’ when he is on 39, his score will be 41
and thus will have to retire. This batsman can come back for batting again after 6th down wicket.
2) A batsman can retire only if when he/she has scored 40 runs or have injured himself/herself
3) If one of the last pair of batsman is out before the completion of the 8th overs, the retired batsman may return to
the crease in the same order of retirement.
4) If 6 wickets fall before 8
th overs are completed, then the last remaining batsman shall continue batting alone without
anyone on the other side of the crease. The last remaining batsman must always take the strike and must therefore
return to the striker’s end after scoring. The last remaining batsman shall be declared run out if ball hits any side of
the wicket while he is out of the crease. The innings shall be completed at the fall of the 7
th wicket.
5) If the batsman becomes ill or injured during the course of the game, a runner will be permitted, subject to the
umpire’s approval. The runner shall be a member of the batting team and where possible will have already batted.
The replacement must come from the nominated 7 players for that particular game.
5. BOWLING
1) Underarm bowling is prohibited.
2) Only one player from a given team can bowl maximum of 3 overs in any given innings
6. FIELDING RESTRICTIONS
No fielding restrictions
7. RESULTS
1) Points - Winner 2 (Two) points, Looser 0 (zero) points.
2) The side having achieved the highest score at the completion of the match shall be declared the winner.
3) In the event of tied scores, a ‘Super Batting Over’ will be played. Team scoring maximum runs in the Super Batting
Over will be declared as winner.
4) In case if the Super Batting Over becomes tie, the winner will be decided by the ‘Super Bowling Over’.
5) In case if the Super Bowling Over becomes tie, then the winner will be decided by the ‘Toss’.
8. Reporting Time – 15 Minutes before the start of scheduled time of the Match. We will be having team photography and
the toss before 15 minutes of the schedule time of the Match.
9. Shortfall of Players - In case of Shortfall of the Players:
i. In case if there is shortfall for completing 7 players in a team due to ‘Temporary Absenteeism’ (When the player is
expected to join in between the running match) in any team
a. This should be declared by the team captain before 15 minutes of the start of the scheduled time of the
match.
b. The team will have to play the match with their existing number of players, as the matches will be starting
as per the scheduled time.
c. Missing players can join the match in between but only after the completion of the running over.
d. The team will not be allowed to take any players as replacement for their shortfall player.
ii. In case if there is shortfall for completing 7 players in a team due to ‘Permanent Absenteeism for that day’ or due
to ‘Injury’ in any team
a. This should be declared by the team captain before 15 minutes of the start of the scheduled time of the
match.
b. Substitute player may be taken from any other team with the consensus of the opposite Captain
c. Substitute will be provided but only for the Fielding purpose.
d. Substitute will not be allowed to bat or bowl in that match.
10. Discretion
In case of any dispute, the final decision shall be taken by the Umpires and the Scorers.
