The IMA Chowdiah- M V Shetty nemorial cricket tournament 2023

Rules and regulations

All teams are requested to report in time  Kindly cooperate in this matter

This tournament would be played with Wilson 3 Tennis ball.

Each innings would start with a new ball.

In case a ball is being lost or broken before two over’s of an innings, then new ball would be issued. 

If lost after two overs of an innings, old ball [used] would be issued.

Matches would be of 6 overs. Power play is applicable for the first two overs 

The pitch is of 20 yards in length

6 Over’s Match Max over’s by a bowler is 2, only one bowler can bowl two over .

On-field umpire’s decision would be the final one.

It is captain’s responsibility to uphold spirit of the game by his team.

Players shall wear pants and t shirt/shirt only.Players shall wear sports shoe only.

A team is represented by a maximum 15 players. If there is short of players, captain of the team can include players  with the permission of the captain of the opposite team.The player shall be IMA member and must be willing to play.

Only IMA Mangaluru players are allowed to play for the team. 

Rules for Alumni players: 

Maximum of 2 Alumni players  can represent their team if not working curently in any of the participating institution.If working, he has to represent the current institution.

The Alumni player shall be a member of IMA Mangaluru Branch 

Maximum of 2 Non IMA members (PG or staff's) of allopathy medicine are allowed or participate in the team

There is no LBW rules and hence no leg byes. Rest all rules of cricket are applicable

If a tie happens Super over would be held to determine the result

There will be two Pools and all the matches are played as knock out system 

In matters of doubt not covered by the tournament rules, the decision of the tournament committee will be final and binding upon all concerned as per the standard rules.

1) Ayurvedic/ Homeopathy medicine

2) postgraduates other than allopathy 

     medicine

3) Interns

4) Dental medicine (without MBBS degree)

5) Spouses of IMA lady members

6) Technicians

7) Lady members

8) Children of IMA members
