SHREEYUT MITRA MANDAL TURF CRICKET TOURNAMENT – 2023 14TH MAY 2023, CHITRAKOOT GROUND, ANDHERI, MUMBAI
RULES FOR THE TOURNAMENT
GENERAL RULES: 1. This Tournament will be one day only.
2. Reporting time for all the teams will be 2:00 pm sharp prior to the Opening ceremony for the Day. (2:30 pm group & team photo will be taken)
3. The qualifying matches will be of 5 overs per inning. Semis and Final, matches will be of 6 overs per inning.
4. It will be 9-player a side match. The playing 9 has to be notified before the beginning of the match. These players have to be from the Team registered. In-case of player shortfall in the team, the team will have to play with available number of players on the field.
5. All matches will be played using tennis ball (Sixer).
6. All Players will have to wear their Team Jersey during their Match & suitable track pants. (Shorts not allowed, if any player wearing shorts will not be permitted to play and no substitute will be allowed. The team will have to play with a player short.)
7. In case of a tie in league match their will be a Super over and in case if there is a Tie in Super over then the result will be decided through the process of Toss. Super Over will be only of 1 over. Maximum of 3 players can come for batting, on fall of 2 wickets before end of the over; an innings will come to an end.
In semi final & final if there is a tie in super over, additional super over will be played and if there is tie in second super over then the result will be decided through the process of Toss.
FIELDING: 1. The fielding team has to ensure that the players fielding position has to be in the following manner: 1 (bowler), 1 (wicket keeper) and a maximum of Five players behind the bowler. Else it will be considered as “No-Ball”.
2. Not more than Three fielders can be at the boundary at any given point of time during the match. Else it will be considered as “No-Ball”.
3. In case if ball goes directly outside the turf from any side. (As turf is open from top) Player will be declared out even if it touches the net & goes out than also it’s out.
4. If any part of the fielder’s body touches the boundary net, while the ball is in contact with the body, then it will be considered as four or six.
5. Any time during the match any Change in Wicket Keeper has to be intimated to leg Umpire else it will be considered as a NO Ball.
6. If wicket keeper collects the Ball before ball passing the stump, it will be no ball & batsman will not be given stump out.
BOWLING: 1. Maximum 1 over per bowler.
2. Full toss Ball above the waist line will be considered as a ‘No ball’. One Bounce above the shoulder will be considered as a ‘No ball’. The above rule is Valid only if the player is in regular position & inside the crease.
3. 1 run each will be allotted for ‘No Balls’ and ‘Wide balls’ apart from the runs scored in that ball, if any.
4. It will be a No Ball if the ball pitches before the middle line. Online will be considered as a No Ball.
5. THERE WILL A FREE HIT AFTER EVERY NO BALL. 6. EVERY OVER’S LAST BALL WILL BE A POWER BALL. ON THAT BALL THE RUNS WILL BE DOUBLED AND IF THE WICKET GOES MINUS 5 RUNS WILL BE COUNTED. 7. Batsman will not be considered out for LBW.
8. Umpire’s decision on the pace of the ball (fast ball) will be final.
9. Any delivery bouncing more than once before the Batting crease line will be considered as a no ball.
10. Over stepping of entire foot beyond bowling crease as well as side stepping beyond the side-line will be considered “No-Ball”.
11. Complete rotation of the arm (round the shoulder) & Side Arm Bowling will not be allowed during bowling. Bowler cannot hide the ball behind the body at the time of bowling. Ball will be consider as no ball. If bowler does any of the above.
12. The Bowler need to mention the side from which he is bowling before starting the over and also side-change if any during the over. Otherwise it will be a No ball.
13. In case of no ball, the batsman will not be given out for catch or clean bold, he will be given out only in case of run out. There will be 1 run given for no ball and ball will not be counted.
14. In case of a wide ball, batsman can get out on stumping. 1 run will be given for wide and ball will not be counted.
15. WOMEN’S HAVE TO BOWL THROW BOWLING.
Batting: 1. There will be runs for overthrows.
2. There will be runs for Byes.
3. There will be runs for Leg Byes.
4. If the current Batsman is catch out, new Batsman will come on the Strike even if the non-striker Batsman has crossed the crease.
5. The team’s innings will be completed at the fall of the 8th wicket. (Note: In case of team playing with less than 9 players criteria will change)
6. No runners will be allowed for the batsmen under any circumstances
7. The Appeal for Pace will be that of the batsman (none other team member will be allowed to appeal), but to be concurred by the umpire. Umpire decision will be final in this case.
8. No Fiber Bats allowed in Tournament.
9. If the ball touches any top part of the turf and goes out of the turf it will be considered as OUT.
- In this league, any involvement of any coach will not be appreciated during the tournament.
- Cricket is known to be a Gentleman’s Game and no player is bigger than the game. All the players are expected to show True Sportsman spirit.
- UMPIRE DECISION IS FINAL IN ALL PROCEEDINGS OF THE GAME. NO ARGUMENT WILL BE ALLOWED.
- TEAM ARGUING AGAINST THE UMPIRE OR COMMITTEE MEMBER’S DECISION WILL DIRECTLY DISQUALIFY.
