Other Details

General Rules:-

  • Each team will have 2 matches in the League stage
  • All the matches would be 8 overs per side
  • For every win, a team would get 2 points and losing team won’t get any points
  • In case of a tie, winner of the match will be decided by Super over
  • Top 3 teams in the points table will qualify for the Play-offs
  • Team tops the table will go directly to the finals. 2nd & 3rd team will play the eliminator to qualify for the finals
  • A player who has played in one team is not allowed to play in another team
  • After the league stages, if two teams are tied with same points, NRR would be considered and the team which has a better NRR will be ranked higher
  • Each innings must be completed in 30 minutes and innings break is 5 minutes. Total match duration is 65 Minutes
  • Each match would start with a new ball. If the ball is lost or damaged, old ball will be used based on umpire decision.
  • Minimum of 7 players are required from a team to start the match. Failure to do so would yield a walkover to the opposition team. Remaining players must arrive within 5 overs. In case of a failure only the fielded 7 would be allowed to bat.
  • If a match is stopped due to rain, then match would be started where it was stopped
  • On-field Umpire’s decision would be the final one
  • Any requests for change of match timings will not be entertained
  • Only Spartans employees are allowed as spectators
  • Track pants and shoes are mandatory to enter the ground

 

Batting Rules:-

  • LBW and Leg byes are not applicable for this tournament. Batsman cannot be ruled out in any form for leg byes and no run would be counted.
  • All “no-balls” (front foot, side-line, above the waist, Fielding restriction etc) result in a “Free Hit” in the next delivery, where field can be changed only if the batsman has crossed over or no ball is due to Field restriction
  • A runner cannot be used for a player who is injured / tired during the match

 

Bowling Rules:-

  • One bowler can bowl a maximum of 2 overs only
  • 1 run will be counted for every Wide & No-Ball
  • No-ball could be called, on the following situations:-
  • If the bowler bowls without some part of the front foot either grounded [first grounding point] or in the air behind the popping crease
  • Any delivery, which passes or would have passed on the full above waist height of the striker standing upright at the crease
  • Chucking is strictly not allowed and if batsman at strikers or non-strikers end appeals against the action it’s left to the umpires on field to analyze the action. If the bowler continues with the same action umpires could call a no-ball.
  • If the bowler starts the over/ changes the side of the wicket from which he bowls without telling the guard to the umpire.

 

Fielding Rules:-

  • Maximum of 5 fielders are only allowed in Leg–side field at any stage of the game. [Including bowler if bowler bowls around the wicket]
  • Batsman are allowed to run for overthrows
  • If batsman during the course of backing up leaves the popping crease before the ball is delivered, he can be run out by the bowler
