Team Composition
● The tournament will be played between teams with a maximum of 11 1(Super substitute)
players per team
○ 1 women player mandatory
○ 1 Leader (Manager and above) mandatory
● No player is allowed to play for more than one team
● Each team will identify 15 players (including reserve players), and there will be no change of
players for the duration of the tournament.
● No outside player (player who is not part of GL family) is allowed to play , if even after a match it
came into notice that some team has made an outsider player perform from their side , then
that team will be disqualified even if that team is a finalist.
Match Details
● There will be a super knockout first round between 12 teams , 6 winning teams will qualify for
quarterfinals , from there top 4 semi finalists will be selected ( 3 winning teams & 1 on the basis
of overall net run rate including NRR of knock out round). Proceeding semi finals we will have our finalists.
● Matches will be played using Tennis balls (Green).
● The pitch length will be 22 yards.(exception for women players where it can be taken as 18 yards on demand refer to rules for women players on this)
● Each innings will be of 10 overs, of which it is mandatory for the women players to play 2 overs (if both teams have 2 women players , rest other cases are mentioned in rules for women players)
● Minimum 4 bowlers have to be used, 2 bowlers can bowl maximum of 3 overs and other can
bowl 2 each.
● No substitution of players is allowed during a match unless a player is injured or unable to play.
Substitute will only be allowed to field.
● Super sub rule: There is a sub available for each team which they can use after the completion of 5 overs in any innings of the match, However, the teams have to announce the names of these
super sub players before the start of the game. (Women players can’t be a super sub).
● No Last Man Batting.
Players who are part of the Committee & also participating in the tournament will be considered
only as a player in capacity (not as part of Committee) on the match days of teams of their
respective DUs.
● In an event of dispute,the decision of the umpires & Core committee is final.
What do you need to bring
● Players have to bring their own equipment like bats , gloves , supporters etc .
● We will arrange water and snacks. You are welcome to carry anything for your team's specific
needs.
● If you would like to invest in Team uniforms, it would make the event perfect!
● But most of all, BRING YOUR SMILES, FUN, ENTHUSIASM, and SWAG!
Remember!
● If there is a dispute of any sort with any call, the umpire & core committee member call will be
final.
● Players who are part of the Committee & also participating in the tournament will be
considered only as a player in capacity (not as part of Committee) on the match days of teams
of their respective DUs.
● There will be several designated areas for garbage disposal. Water bottles and other
trash items should be disposed in the designated areas only. Each team captain is
responsible to make sure your team members comply. For non-compliance, your team
will lose points!
General Rules (All International general cricket rules applies apart from
below exceptions)
● During the tournament all the participants are expected to BEHAVE PROFESSIONALLY and should AVOID ABUSIVE LANGUAGE / GESTURES / QUESTION UMPIRE'S DECISION. Umpires decision will be final. Argument on Umpire decision will lead to disqualification from the tournament.
● Power play is of first 3 overs .
● If match ball is lost in power play ,only then a new ball will be given to bowling team , after first 3 overs , if ball is lost , only used ball will be given.
● If there is rain/other unforeseen interruption, the organizing committee will take the call to either call the game off, or reduce the overs.
● Team with no Band 3 player will be imposed with a penalty of 15 runs.
● Teams who arrive late from the scheduled time may have to face deduction of overs in their batting , if the match is delayed because of their late arrival.
● No LBWs , no leg byes runs and no run out on a leg bye. Ball hitting to any part of the body except wrist will be considered as leg byes. Stumping is allowed on a leg bye.
● Batsman can be retired anytime.But will return only at 10th down i.e after fall of 9 wickets.
● Once a Beamer is bowled , the bowler will be banned from bowling for that match.
● Chucking(only in case of men bowler) – umpire’s discretion will be final and only the batter can raise the concern of chucking to umpires , no signaling or intervention from the batting team’s dugout will be considered for this. If it happens from the dugout , a penalty of 5 runs will be imposed by umpires on the batting team.
● Only one by-runner will be allowed at a time (in case of one women player)
● Ball pitching more than once before it crosses stumps will be declared dead ball.(except for women players) .
● If a bowler bowls a delivery that pitches outside the playing area or the cut strip, (line parallel to the wide line) either partially or completely before reaching the striker,the delivery will be declared as a No ball.
● Any rules/disputes not mentioned here will be at resolved at the discretion of the tournament management committee & umpires.
● Players who are part of the Committee & also participating in the tournament will be
considered only as a player in capacity (not as part of Committee) on the match days of teams of their respective DUs.
Rules for women Players :
● Maximum two women players can play from one team in a match.
● Team with no women player will be imposed with a penalty of 10 runs , along with only one fielder outside 30 yards during powerplay. The team will be batting only 8 overs (if opponents have two women players) & 9 overs (if opponents have only one women player).
● If both teams come with one woman player each , then one over is mandatory for women players where bowler & batter will be women.
● If both teams come with two women players each , then two overs are mandatory for women players where bowler & batter will be women.
● Runs Scored by women batter will be doubled and added to final scores.
● On event of Wicket of the women batter negative 3 runs will be done from batting team score.
● In case Team A comes with two women players & Team B comes with one woman player , Team will be batting for 9 Overs only & wherein one by runner will be allowed to Team B’s woman player but strike will always be with Woman player even after a single run.
● The on side wide line and off side wide line for women bowlers will be of the same length in case a woman bowler is not demanding for 18 yards.
● Women bowlers are not compelled to bowl with round arm action; they can simply throw the ball (it should not be under arm throw).
● Women bowlers are allowed to make the ball reach to the batter in two tips , if the bowl reachesv to stumps in more than two tips ,it's a no ball.
In case the the woman bowler want to bowl from a shorter pitch that is 18 yards(umpire will be deciding that line) , then run scored on each bowl bowled from 18 yards will be awarded one run extra , e,g if batter hits a four , the runs will ((4*2) 1)=9 runs.
● From 18 yards , no wicket can be claimed by the bowler except a run out. The stumps of non striking end will be actual and for batter the pitch is still 22 yards .
● From 18 yards , if a wide is bowled then it will be 3 runs .
● From 18 yards , the onside wide rule will be discarded.
● First over of every innings is mandatory for women players , in case of two women players First two overs are mandatory.
For Negative total of Women batters in 1st inning , 2nd innings batting team will be given advantage as below in women player over
-2 wide bye (one extra ball )
-1 one wide (one extra ball)
-3 two byes , one wide (one extra ball)
-4 four byes , (one extra ball)
-5 wd 4 byes (one extra ball)
-6 wd 5 penalty runs (one extra ball)
For Negative total of Women batters in 2nd inning , 2nd innings batting team will be having those many runs reduced from preceeding or succeeding overs.
