GESIA Box Cricket Rules
General Rules:
1.There are 4 groups in the tournament, each with 4 teams.
2.Teams in each group will compete against 3 other teams from their group. Hence, every team will get a minimum of 3 matches.
3.Reporting time is 30 mins prior to the match time.
4.Playing 8 has to be given 15 mins prior to the match, Match will start as per the allotted time with available playing 8 players.
5.The top 1 team in the points table from each group will go to the semi-final. The top 1 team will be decided by the points and net run rate shown on CRICHEROS.
6.Every team shall be given t-shirts upon registration, and it is compulsory to wear those in the matches. Any player without the given t-shirts shall not be allowed to play. Track pants and sports shoes are mandatory (Shorts are not allowed)
7.A match will be played with 8 players a side decided and named before the toss.
8.All players playing the game must be from the list provided at the time of registration.
9.Each team will bowl 8 overs and bat 8 overs.
10.Two players from the team shall be allowed to bowl a maximum of two overs.
11.A neutral umpire will be assigned for each game.
12.Umpire's decision will be final.
13.In case of a tie, the winner will be decided by super over.
14.Every team shall get a time of 25 mins to complete their quota of 8 overs.
15.Last ball of every over will be the GESIA power ball, the runs scored will be doubled and the fall of the wicket will lead to a loss of 5 runs (-5).
16.Committee’s decision will be final in case of any dispute regarding rules.
Batting:
1.A team can run as many runs as possible when the ball is hit with the bat and is within the playing area.
2.Byes and Leg Byes are allowed in the match.
3.If the ball hits any of the nets in any Zone, and goes to the boundary, then only 4 runs shall be added to the score. Even the runs taken shall not be counted, and only 4 runs shall be considered.
4.For a sixer, the ball needs to be hit directly on the boundary net on the opposite side of the batting side, without touching any net. If the ball touches anywhere (including the roof), then it shall be a boundary and not a sixer.
5.Overthrow runs shall be considered and added to the total of runs taken prior to the throw.
6.Free-Hit will be awarded after every NO-Ball.
7.New Batter has to reach the batting crease, after the existing batter is declared out, within 3 minutes. If not, a loss of 5 runs will be declared for the batting team.
Bowling and Fielding:
1.Overstepping from the bowling crease (front and side) shall be considered a no-ball. Even a waist-high full-toss shall be considered a no-ball.
2.If the ball touches any of the side net or roof net, and then is caught by any fielder, it shall be considered not out.
3.No underarm bowling is allowed. Compulsory throw over shoulder level.
4.Bowler has to bowl at a speed of Max 60kph

6.At any moment during the match, there can be a maximum of 2 players behind the bowler. i.e. maximum two fielders on the boundary.
7.Wicketkeeping is mandatory.
8.Overthrows - if it hits the boundary net it's a 4 runs
9.All the ICC rules will be applied except LBW
NOTE: Outside Food and Beverages are prohibited inside the venue premises.
