SPL 2022 RULES

1.All Captains shall report at 8am on Sunday 6th nov before the start of the tournament, as Jaggubhai wants to do some shoot activity with all captains combine.

For that case, captains should come alone bcz in case of late, only 1 player(captain) gets late for 1st match. Remaining players should report at the ground according to the match timings.

 

2. For morning matches :

Reporting Time : 8.30 am

Toss Time : 8.45 am

Match start time : 9 am

   For noon matches : 

Reporting Time : 12.00 pm

Toss time : 12.15 pm

Match start time : 12.30 pm

In case of dew, umpires will take a final call.

 

3. Fielding side will be given 1 hr 45 minutes to complete 1 innings (20 overs). After 1 hr 45 minutes if the fielding team has not completed 20 overs then remaining overs will be bowled by fielding team with one extra player inside the circle as a penalty.

 In case of delay by batsman, umpires call will be final.

Penalty of extra fielder will not be applied in last over if the team takes more than five wickets

 

4. NEW RULE ALERT : Power play will be 4 overs 2 overs(batting powerplay) this time.

First 4 overs compulsory powerplay

2 overs batting powerplay will be decided by batting team

Batting team can take 2 overs powerplay between 5th to 17th over only

If batting team doesn’t use powerplay till 15th over then 16th and 17th over will automatically be considered as batting powerplay.

 

5. Any player from squad of 16 players (whether played in spl 2022 or not )  can be released from the squad to use a stand by player.

Maximum replacements allowed : 2

The player who gets released/eliminated will not be able to play again in spl 2022 in any case for any team.

To use a standby player for Sunday’s match, captains must inform in the SPL captains watsapp group before Saturday evening 8.pm.

End time inclusion of stand by player in the morning is not allowed.

Semi final will be played by the players only in squad of 16. No stand by players can be used directly in semis. If any team wants their standby player to play in semi finals then it must be included in squad of 16 players before semifinal 

and by obviously releasing 1 player from the squad

 

6. Minimum 9 players are required to start a match . No team can play with 8 players . Opponent team will be considered as winner if team doesn’t have minimum 9 players .

 

7. After giving your playing 11, if any of those player gets delayed for the match, the maximum wait will be till 6 overs. After 6 overs that player will not be allowed to play and team will have to continue playing with short players

Meanwhile till that player comes, no substitute in place of that player will be allowed.

Meanwhile till that player comes, fielding team can still put 2 fielders outside the circle with 1-2 short inside the circle. During the powerplay.

In case of total 9 players available, and out of them 1 player gets delayed then maximum wait will be till 6 overs . if that player doesn’t come till 6th over also, then the opponent team will be considered as winner bcz minimum requirement to play the whole match is 9 players.

 

 

8.Substitutes are allowed in place of the fielder present on ground.

Suppose if any player leaves the field by using substitute in place of him then that player will be able to bat or bowl only after the number of overs he spent outside.

Example if Andrew leaves the field for any reason and placed a substitute in place of him. Andrew comes back after 4 overs, so in that case Andrew will be able to bat/bowl only after next 4 overs of the game.

If Andrew leaves the field from 16 to 20 overs, then Andrew will not be able to open the innings or will not be able to bat till first 4 overs of next innings.

Substitute is allowed only from the squad of 16 players. No standby player or any other player is allowed tobe used as substitute.

 

9. In case of rain or any other emergency that discontinues the match, there will be a Rematch. The whole match will be played again, no matter at what stage the match was.

During Rematch, playing 11 can also be changed.

Rematch will be mostly on Saturdays.

 

10.New Batsman will take the strike after the wicket goes.

 

11. It is a captain’s responsibility to take care of team’s behavior.

Bad /Abusive languages against opponents or umpires will be penalized straight away without warnings.

Umpire will take a call on misbehavior or personal sledging 

 

12. If any team walks away to continue a match due to any reason/conflict, then that team will not be able to play SPL next year .

If all players are ready to continue a match except 1 or 2 players then those 1 or 2 players will not be able to play SPL next year in any team if they decides to walk away.

Team will have to continue playing with 9 players if those 2 players are not agreeing to continue the match.

NRR will not change, if match not completed due to any reason. Only 2 points will be given.

 

13. Most Probably Final of SPL 2022 will be played on 7th jan night or 8th jan night.

1st jan was cancelled because many players/owners will be out of the town due to 31st Dec.

7th or 8th jan timings will be decided and informed in the captain’s group later.

7th and 8th jan grounds are unavailable in morning and noon, so all depends upon ground availability in night.

Final will be played on Turf wicket only just like the whole tournament. Most probably it will be SGVP.

 

14. Super over will be played in case of a tie.

In case super over also gets tied, Again new super over game will be played.

 

15. In case of doubtful action, umpire will take a final call.

 

16. All captains are requested to understand that umpire errors happens in international games also.

So without hindering the tournament, Umpire Decision shall be considered as last decision
