RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. This is a league cum final hard red tennis ball cricket tournament.

Four teams namely, Namakkal, Salem, Erode and Trichy will be participating in the series and each team will play a match against the remaining 3 teams. Top 2 teams from will be qualified for the finals.

3. All the matches consists of 8 overs in each innings, where 3 bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 overs and minimum 5 bowlers should be used. 

4. LBW and Leg-Byes are not applicable and all other ICC cricket rules, including MANKADING, apply.

5. First over will be mandatory power play and second powerplay will be a batting PP (one over) it can be chosen by batting side during overs 5 to 7 which should be intimated to umpires before starting of preceding over (i.e. if batting team wants to choose 5th over as batting PP then either batters on the crease should intimate to umpires at the beginning of 4th over, not in the end of 4th over). Last over is exempted from chosing.

6. Maximum 2 fielders are allowed to field outside 30 yard circle during mandatory PP, maximum 3 fielders are allowed to field outside of the 30 yard circle during batting PP over and maximum 5 fielders are allowed to field outside the 30 yard circle during non-powerplay overs.

7. At any instant, not more than 5 fielders can be fielded on the leg side also there shall not be more than 2 fielders (excluding wicket keeper)behind the crease on the onside.

8. No-ball will be declared wherever field restrictions are violated.
Free hit is applicable for all kind of No-Balls. 
Umpires reserve every right to declare a no ball with or without warning if any bowler delivers under arm or throw ball.

9. By- runners are not allowed at any cause and substitute player can be used only for fielding.

10. A bowler cannot come and bowl an over straight after rest. He should have fielded at least 1 over prior to his bowling.

11. As per the new rule, following a catching dismissal, new batters will be at the striker's end even if the batters cross while the catch is taken will be followed.

12. Scoring will be done online through CRIC HEROES MOBILE APP, based on which NET RUN RATE and other performance matrixes viz., Man of the Match, Man of the series etc. Will be assessed. Hence no manual interpretation is involved.

13. Teams should report 30 minutes before the start of the play.

14. Teams are advised to avoid any unnecessary delay before or during the game to maintain our time schedule. At any cost (except unforeseen weather conditions) 1st match toss should be before 6 45 and players to be ready on field by 6 55

15. Each captain should nominate his playing XI before the toss. No player can be changed after the nomination without the consent of the opposition captain. Each team should nominate one staff/player from their team to be seated along with the scorer.

16. A new ball (Hard red tennis ball) will be provided for each innings. In case of loss or damaged ball, umpire will replace the used ball.

17. Neutral Umpires will be deployed for the tournament. Umpire’s decision will be final and binding throughout the tournament. No disputes will be entertained at any point of time.

18. Organizers reserve the right to change the venue, date, time and reduce the number of overs for matches at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

19. All team members are requested to maintain appropriate dress code with shoes.

20. All other stipulated rules and Regulations will be continued till the Tournament Ends.
