KONUR PREMIER LEAGUE
RULES & REGULATIONS
1. TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
➢ Total 12 teams, 2 Pools, 6 teams in Pool A & 6 teams in Pool B.
➢ Five (5) league matches per team in each pool.
➢ 20 players per team squad. Only Namakkal district players (players
residing in Namakkal address based on the Aadhaar card) are allowed to
play in this tournament. All players are requested to bring their Aadhar
card Xerox during the match.
➢ Top 4 teams from Pool A & Pool B shall be qualified for the super four
round depending upon the points and net run rate (NRR).
➢ Super four round each team shall play with opposite pool teams. Each
team get 4 league matches, 8 reams put in single pool, ( EX = A1 Vs B1, B2,
B3 & B4)
➢ Top four teams shall be qualified for play off matches.
➢ Ball shall be provided by the organizer.
➢ Cricket leather ball (red color) shall be used.
➢ All players shall come with white jersey (white T-shirt & track pants).
Color T-shirts or track pants shall not be allowed.
➢ 25 overs match.
➢ Venue: Red Star Cricket Ground (Namakkal to Karur by-pass), , Konur
Kandampalayam.
2. TIMINGS OF MATCHES:
➢ 1

➢ Teams shall report 15 minutes before the play.
➢ Playing 11 s shall be reported to the umpires before the toss of the match.
No changes shall be allowed in the playing 11s after the toss.
➢ Decision shall be made by the captain who wins the toss on the spot
itself.
➢ Overs shall be reduced if there is any delay by the concerned teams.
➢ Time given for one innings (25 overs) for both the teams in a match shall
be 120 minutes (including drinks intervals).
3. TOURNAMENT RULES:
➢ Power play: 7 overs (25 overs) Maximum 2 fielders outside the inner
circle.
➢ Remaining overs – maximum 5 fielders outside the inner circle.
➢ Minimum 5 bowlers shall be used.
➢ If there is any interruption in the match due to rain, bad light, wind or any
reasons, then the umpires shall take the decision after discussing with
both the captains and the organizer.
➢ No DLS method shall be followed in this tournament. If there is any
interruption in the match due to rain or any natural disturbances, the
result shall be announced as per the following conditions.
➢ If there is rain or any bad weatherduring the 1st innings or before the 10th
over of the 2nd innings, then each team shall be awarded each 1 point. In
case of completing 10th over of the 2nd innings, then the match result shall
be declared depending upon the run rate for every 5 overs.
(2nd innings- 11th
-15th over, 16th
-20th over, 21st
-25th over)
➢ New batter to take strike after catch dismissals.
➢ No by-runner shall be allowed for the batsman at any cause. If the
batsman gets injured on the field, he can get retired and come back to bat
again at any time.
➢ Players are requested to play with safety measures by using helmets
and thigh pads to avoid injuries.
➢ Similarly substitutes shall be allowed for the fielders only in the case of
any on field injury.
➢ Substitute players shall not be allowed to bowl, bat and act as a captain.
He shall replace the wicket keeper in case of any on field injuries, only
after the umpire’s approval.
➢ Substitute players shall not be allowed inside the ground unnecessarily
in between the overs. Only after the umpire’s approval, he shall be
allowed.
➢ Any team with less than 9 players shall not be allowed to play.
➢ If any player has not arrived before the start of the match in the fielding
side, only 5 overs bowling time shall be provided for him after the start of
the match. If the concerned player hasn’t reached within the given time,
then he shall not be allowed to play after that.
➢ Chucking and mankad run out shall not be allowed strictly.
➢ Free hit for all no balls.
➢ Only 1 bouncer shall be allowed for the bowler in an over. If he bowls a
second bouncer, then it shall be announced as a no ball by the umpire.
No balls:
➢ Overstepping the crease.
➢ Beamer. (bowler shall be stopped from bowling in the particular innings,
if he bowls 2 dangerous beamers)
➢ Hitting the non-striker stumps while bowling.
➢ Chucking.
➢ Misplacement of the fielders inside and outside the 30 yard circle.
➢ Placing more than 5 fielders on the leg (on) side.
➢ Placing more than 2 fielders on the leg (on) side behind the batsman’s
crease.
➢ Wicket keeper moving any of his parts including his cap before the stump
before the batsman strikes the ball.
➢ Interruption of the fielder before the batsman strikes the ball.
➢ Bowling the ball outside the wicket (ie. Out of mat)
➢ Bowling 2 bouncers in an over.
4. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CAPTAIN:
➢ Captains of their respective teams are the sole responsible person
during the whole match.
➢ In the absence of the captain, the vice-captain shall be give the
responsibility.
➢ No other player apart from the captain, shall talk to the umpire
unnecessarily.
➢ No bad comments or foul languages shall be passed by the players in the
ground. In case, it happens, the particular player shall be banned from
the tournament and the captain shall take the responsibility.
➢ No drinking and smoking are not allowed around the ground. Drinking
players are not allowed to play.
➢ Kindly do not argue with the umpires unnecessarily. If there are any
suggestions, the captain shall make a conversation with the umpires.
➢ The captains are requested to ask their team players to play a gentleman
game during the whole tournament.
5. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE UMPIRES:
➢ The umpires have the authority to make decisions along with the
organizer regarding every incidents happening during the match.
➢ The umpires has the rights to reverse his decision, after discussing with
his partner.
➢ Every person shall not be correct every time, so if there are any mistakes
in his decisions, kindly do not argue with him. The concerned captain
shall appeal to him about his decision.
➢ The umpires shall make a note of the time during every innings and every
matches. If there is any delay in the timings, he has the rights to reduce
the overs or runs for the concerned teams.
6. AWARDS:
➢ Winner up = Rs.25000 Cup
➢ Runner up = Rs.20000 Cup
➢ Third place = Rs.15000 cup
➢ Fourth place = Rs.10000 cup
➢ Man of the match for each and every match
➢ Man of the series of the tournament
➢ Best Batsman of the tournament
➢ Best Bowler of the tournament
➢ Best Wicket keeper of the tournament
➢ Most fours of the tournament
➢ Most sixes of the tournament
7. Fee:
Entrance fee = Rs.5500/- for the tournament
Ball fee = Rs.500/- for the every match
