Match Rules
1. 9 + 1 Players. 1 woman player is mandatory (can be more)
2. Players must only be employees of WIPRO (or) family members of WIPRO employees (or) WIPRO Customers who are part of your team
3. Each side's innings will consist of 6 overs, unless it is all-out or result is achieved earlier
4. Team reaching 15 min late for the Match will be considered as the Looser team
5. Extra Runs are given for
◦ Wides ◦ No Balls (beamer, front foot no-ball) ◦ Overthrow
6. There are no runs for byes.
7. Free hits are not allowed in case of front foot no-balls.
8. In a scenario when all three stumps are down in an attempt for run out, batspersons can run for overthrows and the fielding t eam can make
another attempt for run out by simply touching the stumps with the ball (or with the ball in hands).
9. A bowler can bowl a maximum of two overs
10. Single player batting is not allowed
11. Retiring a batsman - A batsperson can be retired any time in an innings.
Such a person can bat again only after the fall at least one wicket (retirement doesn't count as a wicket).
12. In case teams having same points for the semi-finals NRR will be calculated by :
NetRunRate= (RunsScored/OversFaced) - (RunsGiven/OversBowled) { Run Rate For} - {Run rate Against}
Note : No of wickets fall is not taken into consideration .
Even if a team losses it can have +ve Run rate
If a team is bowled out (either batting first or second) , then for them , we should not use the number of overs faced by the m in the denominator.
It is their fault that they did not face full quota of overs. We still should use the total quota of overs ( 8 in our case) in the denominator,
while calculating NRR. (Ex : 100/all out in 6 overs ? NRR = 100/8 and NOT 100/6 )
If a team does not face full quota of overs because it has already won, in that case we will only use the overs faced by them and NOT the
total quota of overs (Ex : Target 100 runs in 8 overs , team scores 101/5 in 7 overs ? then NRR = 101/7 and NOT 101/8 )
Example 1.
Teamx bats1standscores52in10overs andTeamyscores53in8overs Net Run rate for team x = ( 52/10) - (53/8) = 5.2 - 6.625 = -1.42
Net Run rate for team y = (53/8)- ( 52/10) = +1.42
Example 2.
Team A bats first scores 60 runs in 10 overs, Team B scores 40 runs in 5 overs NetRRForTeamA = (60/10) -(33/5) =6-6.6=-0.6 <RRFor-RRAgainst> Net RR For Team B = ( 33/5) - (60/10) = +0.6 <RR For - RR Against>
