Rules of Gameplay - G.U.P.L. 2022
Notes:-
These rules are proposed to keep it FAIR FOR ALL the players playing with us. Rules:-
● There will be 2 pools with 5 teams each.
● Every team will play 4 matches in the league stage.
● Top 2 teams from each pool with the highest wins (Net run rate if number of wins are equal) will advance to the Semi-finals.
● All the matches will be of 8 overs. Every bowler has to ball 1 over.
● In case of a tie, the result will be decided by a super over. No powerplay in super over.
● First 2 overs will be powerplay overs. Only 1 fielder will be allowed to field behind the umpire line in the powerplay overs.
Maximum 2 players are allowed to field on the boundary line after powerplay.
● You can score runs everywhere on the field. Even behind the stumps. 1 run is declared if the ball goes outside the net
behind the batsman-side stumps.
● Umpire’s decision will be the final decision irrespective of whether you feel it is right or not. We are bringing professional
umpires. They do this job daily.
● Players cannot argue with the umpires. Only captains can talk to the umpire. Umpire has the right to reduce 5 runs from the
team’s total score in case of misbehavior.
● Byes and Leg Byes runs will be added to the total score.
● Batsmen can appeal if the ball is fast paced, but the call will be taken by the umpire. There is no warning on pace balls. If the
umpire feels it is fast, it will be a No-ball. No free hit for any kind of no balls.
● Plastic/Fiber bats will not be allowed. Only wooden bats will be allowed. Players using plastic bats will be disqualified from
the match. It is the responsibility of the team to ensure that the other team is only using wooden bats.
● It is the responsibility of the captains to maintain the decorum of the team. Players need to be present all the time before
their respective matches or else matches will start even if players are not there.
We are keeping things fair for everyone. No rule should give added advantage or disadvantage to any team.
ALL THE ABOVE RULES ARE DISCUSSED AND AGREED BY THE CAPTAINS.
