Other Details

  1. Player limit – The games will be played by 8 players on field, of which 1 needs to be a female player (substitutes can be used only for fielding, and if a player is actually injured). Each team needs to ensure that all players of his team present on the match day are made to play at least 1 league game.
  2. Over limit – Each innings will consist of 8 overs and 6 bowlers will have to be used with the over limit of 2-2-1-1-1-1W. There will be a super over in case of a tie – all rules except powerplay rules will apply.
  3. Female player – Runs conceded in an over bowled by a female will be same as any member in the team. It is mandatory that a female player bowls a minimum of 1 over. If the team’s female player is not available for a match:
  • The captain may ask for a female player of another team (from the opposite group) to play for them (subject to approval from all captains of that group).
  • If the above is not possible, then the team will have to play one player short and the opposition team while batting will get a chance to choose one over where the runs scored by them will be doubled. Once the opposition (batting) team confirms that one over (can be any over including Batting or Bowling Powerplay), the bowling team cannot replace that bowler.
  1. Fielder position – A maximum of 8 fielders (bowler + wicket-keeper + 6 fielders) will be allowed on the field at any point of time.

Maximum 2 fielders at the boundary (except during Powerplay – refer point ‘f’); 1 wicket-keeper (mandatory at all times) and the bowler will account for 4 fielders. The other 4 fielders can be placed anywhere ahead of the bowling crease, except in the line of the stumps.

  1. Extras – Wides and no balls will account for extras. However, byes and leg byes will not be counted as extras. Runs off overthrows will also be considered.
  2. Powerplay – There will be 2 Powerplays (‘PP’) of 1 over each. The Bowling PP will be taken by the bowling team between overs 1-4, and the Batting PP will be taken by the batting team between overs 5-8.

While the PP over is in progress, only 1 fielder will be allowed at the boundary, and the remaining 7 must be stationed ahead of the bowling crease. At no point will a fielder be allowed to stand in front of the goal post before the ball is released. The bowling team can choose / change the bowler once the batting team opts for the Batting PP.

  1. Modes of dismissal – Bowled, Stumped, Run out, Caught out (direct only). If the ball hits the batter’s leg without touching the bat thrice during the innings, the batter will be adjudged out.
  2. Catching – In case the ball hits the top net of the turf it will not be considered as a bounce unless it hits the side net or the tree. In case of any confusion, the umpire’s decision will be considered final.
  3. Bowling -
  • The bowler is not allowed to bowl over-arm / upper-arm / side-arm / excessive pace – It will be considered a no-ball based on umpire’s decision (no batter’s call)
  • The bowler is not allowed to hide the ball behind his back before he / she releases the ball – It will be considered a ‘no-ball’
  • The bowler is not allowed to release the ball above waist-line height – It will be considered a ‘no-ball’
  • The ball must not bounce twice before the batting crease, else it will be declared as a dead ball. However, in case of any other extras applicable to that delivery, the extras would be considered. E.g. 2 bounces for a Wide would be declared as a Wide.
  1. No ball – A free hit will be awarded for all no balls bowled (full toss above the batter’s waist height, overstepping the bowling crease, fielder standing in front of the goal post at any time (including powerplay), fielder positioning conditions not followed or any other ‘no-ball’ rule mentioned above).
  2. Scoring runs – Boundaries can be scored straight off the wicket, with running runs on offer everywhere else.
  3. Bonus runs – Any shot going inside the opposite goal post stationed at the boundary will be doubled, even when a no ball is involved. E.g. If a No ball is hit for a six, then 14 runs will be added to the batting team’s score.
  4. Wide – If the ball beats the batter (below his/her bat) but goes out of the ‘wide’ marking, it will be subject to umpire’s call. Other rules for wide ball remain the same.
  5. Umpire’s decision – This will be final and binding on both the teams. No team shall be entertained to argue with the umpire’s call. Umpires would be decided by the Organizers amongst the experienced players of the other group (subject to approval from both captains of the match).
  6. Disciplinary action – In case of any misconduct, strict action will be taken by the Management and the Organizing committee.

Points system for the league stage will be as follows:

  1. 2 points for a win, 0 points for a loss, 1 point for the losing side of super over.
  2. In case teams of the same group end the league stage with equal points, the team with a better NRR will be considered to finish on top.
  3. Top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the knockouts stage and the fixtures will be as follows:
  • Qualifier 1 – A1 vs. B1
  • Eliminator 1 – A2 vs. B2
  • Eliminator 2 – Winner of Eliminator 1 vs. Loser of Qualifier 1
  • Final – Winner of Qualifier 1 vs. Winner of Eliminator 2
