Following success of the previous editions, the Voltas IOBG Cricket Cup 2021-22 tournament is all set to roll.

Mandatory Match Guidelines with regards to Covid 19 Regulations:        

Despite signs of relief regarding COVID-19 restrictions, it is a known fact that the virus is still active, and therefore health safety of all employees working at the project shall not be placed at risk, as long as COVID-19 continues to be a threat.

All Teams to maintain proper social distancing and sanitization at all times while in dugout or on the field. Each player, along with their supports, will be thermally scanned before the start of play.  Any player with a body temperature of more than 37 degree Celsius will not be allowed to enter the field of play.

Handshakes or any physical contact is not permitted.  Batter’s end of over gathering closer than 2m is not permitted.

Match officials to refrain from holding towels, caps, goggles, etc. of any player. (Including bowler).  Players to refrain from spitting on ground.

Kindly refrain from celebrating the fall of wickets or team huddles or victory celebration. Always keep in mind the social distancing rule of 2m.

Post-match handshakes should be avoided and greetings can be shared from distance.

It is expected for everyone to have a responsible behavior while active on the Ground. As you are aware, the use of facemask is mandatory in UAE. Use of facemask is also mandatory at Cricket Field.

Please note that wearing a facemask, glasses and gloves is not a substitute for social distancing and other hygienic measures.  You are exempted from using the facemask during match time only.

Respective team Management/site admin must take the necessary arrangements to ensure all members of the team fully comply with these rules, and that they lead by example.

Sanctions may be applied if these rules are breached.

Voltas Cricket Committee members will try their best to maintain hygiene and safety standard for all teams in the best possible manner, but complete support from all players is expected.

The tournament details are as under:

THE TOURNAMENT

·         There are Sixteen teams, divided into Four Groups:- Group A, B, C & D, each consisting of 4 teams;

·         Each team shall comprise of workmen and staff with maximum 15 members per team;

·         League Matches would be played in the format within each group as below:

o   Each league match would be of 8 overs per side.

o   Each team would get to play 2 matches within the respective group;

o   As per the fixtures, 2 matches will be played within a group on the Day 1 of the particular group;

o   Next Matches of the respective group, the fixture shall be:

§  Winner of 1^st Match Vs. Loser of 2^nd Match;

§  Winner of 2^nd Match Vs. Loser of 1^st Match;

·         The top two teams of each group would qualify to play the Quarter finals;

·         The points system shall be as below:

o   Winner – 2 point;

o   Loser – 0 Point;

In case of a tie or draw, there shall be super-over and Super Overs ending in a tie winner will be first decided by the number of boundaries (fours/sixes) the teams hit in both innings.

o   In the event, the match is cancelled, due to unforeseen circumstances, the following shall be applied:

§  1 Super over on the nearest available schedule;

§  Or Toss in the presence of Captains;

·         The basis of selection to Quarter finals is based on selecting the top 2 teams as per the number of points achieved in the leagues.

·         In case if points for 2 teams are equal, then the NRR (Net Run Rate) method will be used as per International Regulations; 

·         There shall be 8 teams eligible to qualify for the Quarter finals;

·         Quarter-Final Schedules and patterns will be declared after the league matches.

·         In case of tie in Finals, then the decision of winner shall be on ‘Super-Overs’ and in case of 1^st Super Overs ending in a tie ‘Super-Over’ will be repeated till clear Winner is identified.

·         Maximum overs per bowler would be limited to 2 overs in each League & Quarter final matches;

·         Each inning is expected to be completed in 45 minutes with a 5 minute break before start of the next inning.

·         Quarter-Final & Semi-Final shall be 10 overs each, maximum 2 overs per bowler.

·         The finals shall be 12 overs each, 2 bowlers shall bowl 3 overs maximum and other bowlers shall bowl maximum 2 overs per bowl.

·         Umpires are authorized for controlling all the Matches and Umpires Decision will be final.

·         The committee decision is binding for the whole tournament & request all to adhere to the decision of committee.

ONFIELD CONDUCT

·         Match Official and Voltas Cricket Committee members are scheduled for controlling all the Matches and Match official’s decision will be final.

·         Teams are expected to always respect the Match Officials decision.

·         Misbehavior, Profane language or any abusive instances against the match officials / players will not be acceptable. 

·         Not abiding with the above will result in dismissal of the team members responsible or even the team itself. (Depending on the degree of the incident).

TEAMS:-

REPORTING

·         Teams are expected to report 30 minutes before the scheduled time for toss and be ready to start the match on time.

·         Late start will result in penalty (deduction of overs) decided by the match officials. First 10 minutes delay from the proposed starting time, 1 over will be deducted (from the team coming late) and after every 5 minutes delay one over each will be deducted. (Match Officials will be deciding the final over to be played if both teams are delayed).

·         The names of playing 11 of both the teams will have to be handed over to the umpire before the start of the game through CricHeroes app.

·         The match timings have to be strictly followed by the respective teams. In case if a team do not show up at the time of toss, committee will decide on walk over.

·         Game will start exactly on time irrespective of availability of the full team.

WALKOVER

·         For any reason if a team did not turn up for the match or gave walkover to the opposite team, then TWO points will be deducted from their total points and TWO points will be awarded to the opposite team.
