Few guidelines everyone to adhere to:

1With the outbreak of covid-19 cases, we wanted to make sure we have a safe tournament. So, please make sure we are well sanitized and wear masks while in ground. We understand playing with mask-on is tedious, still please follow and support. While bowing it might be tough, we believe other areas is manageable. Also, sanitize your hands properly during breaks. since the fields are public, we are not sure if the grass is a carrier. so, let’s do our part. We believe captains will make sure their teams adhere to this. also, please practice social distancing in ground. 

All players, including umpires will have to wear face coverings during the entire game. 

2To keep the harmony between teams and players, we wanted to restrict the team size to max of 11-12, with playing 9. This is because, if a team brings in better players than the one already registered during tournament, it will affect the other teams. we accept, there might be injuries and players may not be available, in such cases please update the organizing team. We believe with this we will not hear any complaints from other teams in the tournament. Pls update the team size prior to game and select the playing 9 before scoring starts. As said earlier, 2 subs are allowed who can only field (including wicket keeping) and cannot bat/bowl.

3We wanted to bring in a practice of tape in batting and bowling crease: instead of cones as a reference to crease, lets have the tap on the field for easy and accurate reference so that we can avoid the confusions of noballs/short runs/wide calls etc which will benefit the teams.

Organizing team will provide the tape to all teams in the tournament along with balls. If the tape is an obstacle to stance, we can manage it by not pasting in the line of stumps !

4Umpiring decisions:

As a general rule, Main umpire decision is always FINAL. Umpires have every right to make sure the game runs on time and to maintain the fair plays. Umpires have the right even to call off the came in certain circumstances such as uncontrollable fights etc, umpires take a final call on any situations. Main umpire can overwrite the decision of leg umpire!

5Umpire:

For league matches, as general practice wanted to have one neutral umpire from other team and leg umpire will be from batting team. To be neutral, we want your suggestion to have two neutral umpires (from same team), so that we will never be biased. We accept the personality of umpire itself is Neutral, but still wanted to check if you wanted to go with one or two umpires. The second umpire (from main umpires’ team) will be a company to main umpire anyways :)

6Weather:

No games will be rescheduled. in case of bad weather, cutting down the overs/side is totally umpires call. If a match cannot be played because of weather, winner will be decided on toss (which is quiet unfair), we actually do not have any reserve days as per schedule and we cannot reserve grounds. If both teams do not want to go deciding the game with toss, teams can mutually discuss and come up up with an alternate idea and we are happy to take it forward. they can also play in their convenient time in any day(we are not responsible to reschedule the game), and let us know the result. we will update accordingly. Again, it has to go with umpire!! We believe this is the worst case which didn’t happen (or happened only once because of storm) in last 5-6 years that game is called off in seattle weather. 

7Scoring:

We wanted everyone to follow "CricHeroes" app for the tournament. We agree there are chances of app crash, but this app is so handy that, even in case of app crash, we might only miss a ball or so which can be adjusted. Few folks wanted paper-scoring, yes it is handy, but for this tournament we will handle it using CricHeros which tracks all the details and stats. Hope everyone agree to this.

8Innings (Copied from ARCL site):

·         Each inning will have a maximum of 16 overs a side, a bowler can bowl maximum of 4 overs.

·         Boundaries will be determined based on the ground the teams play in with the consent of the umpire and the team captains. Once the boundaries are determined they cannot be changed for the duration of the game.

·         Minimum 4 players are required in order to start a game

o   In case a team has less than 4 players the other team can wait up to 12 minutes before starting the game and allowing 4 or more players to come. The offending team will play 1 over less for every 4 minutes of play lost for a maximum of 3 overs (12 minutes)

o   If the team does not have 4 or more players within the timeframe then the other team gets a walkover with 30 points and offending team gets 0 points and penalties for no-show (see penalty section for more details)

o   Players can join anytime during the game and can bowl/bat as soon as they join the game.  Team can play in substitutes or play with less players (minimum 4 players is required to start the game). The captain needs to explicitly let the umpire and opponent’s captain know that he is expecting players who will be replaced by the substitutes. 

·         Game should be conducted in the following time frame

o   1 over should be completed in 4 minutes

o   2:25 minutes -  Total Game time

o   5 minutes break between innings

o   1:10 minutes for 1st innings

o   1:10 minutes for 2nd innings

o   5 minutes buffer so teams playing next match can set up the field as needed

Exceptions:

1) For the game between RGSlivers Vs Rowdygang on 15th May 2021, RGSlivers are short of 1 player. Allowing them to add one player outside the existing squared. Reason for that is player are taking 2nd dose of vaccine, one player is out of town and one play a different match in the morning. Captain from RGSlivers informed organizers the same and opposite team captain agreed on that.
