The Rules & Regulations provided below are applicable for Box Cricket to be played.

NO COMMENTS TO BE MADE FROM BEHIND OR ADJOINING THE TURF AREAS.

General Rules 

This whole tournament will be played with “Light Tennis Ball”. 

All Matches will be played for 6 over per innings.


Each team can play with maximum 11 players with every team allotted 12 players in their team. Captains can use the extra player for batting as well as bowling and the players can be changed for whatever the side is playing.

It is mandatory for all the players to wear their team jersey (T-Shirt) during their match. Without wearing the team T-shirt, player is not allowed to enter on turf/to play. Only Team players (playing members) are allowed on turf. 


Track pant and sport shoe are required to arrange by player himself/herself. 

If any additional player found on the turf during the ongoing match except 2 batsman, 2 umpires & 11 fielders, his/her side will face penalty that will be decided by the management and the umpires. 


Incase match is unable to start due to non-availability of any team, the umpires will have an option to ask the team (if limited member are available) to start the match with a reduce side or deduct one over for every 5 mins delay. No extension of the time will be given in normal circumstances. 

Incase both teams fail to report for the schedule match, Committee will declare the match as a tie and award same points to each team. 


Incase a team fails to turn up for their scheduled match, the umpires will award the match to the opponent team, provided opponent team is already on the ground. 

Bowling Rules: 

Only 1 player is allowed to bowl maximum 1 over.

In League Matches, every Innings a New Bowler has to Bowl an over i.e. 1 Bowler has to be New in Every Match.

Wicketkeeper Catches the ball ahead of the stumps for making a stumping, will be Given a NO BALL.


Full toss bowl over “waist height” will be called/declared as a “NO BALL” if the batsman is not moved out of the batting crease before hitting the ball.

Bowler hand should Release the ball below the waist, if over the waist the umpire has right to give direct NO BALL.

Side arm bowling below waist height is allowed, Side arm bowling above waist height will be given NO BALL

Free hit will be given for every NO BALL & in free hit only run out can be done & if batsman hits directly on side nets or on top net normal run scoring will be considered

Regarding Fast Ball, this decision will be taken by both the umpires only & it will be called as a NO BALL or not, the final decision to call NO BALL or not remains with the umpire only. 

Bowler has to bowl from within the crease box, side line touch or front line touch will be declared as NO BALL

Ball should be bowled ahead of the NO BALL line, any number of bounces ahead of NO BALL line is allowed


Any bowler which is replaced in between the over, entire over to be started afresh & batsman team will be awarded 5 runs as bonus.

4th  over will be POWER PLAY, in this over ball directly hitting anywhere on nets above or sideways will not be declared as out, free hitting allowed


Every bowler will have to say to umpires from which side he is going to bowl before the start of the over. If not informed then NO BALL will be declared by the umpire.

Batting Rules:

4th Over of each inning will be “POWER PLAY” where only 2 fielders allowed on the boundary line. 

Every League Match, Set of Openers have to be different than the previous match.


Maximum of 3 fielders are allowed on the boundary line for the entire match except for POWER PLAY over. 

Incase of Tie, Super over will be played where only 3 batsman will be allowed to bat and one over will be bowled. 


The decision of winning team in Super over case will be taken first by number of boundaries hit. If no. of boundaries are same then number of sixes hit in that match. 

If still there is a Tie in above results then equal points will be awarded to both teams. 


Byes, Leg byes and Overthrows runs are allowed/counted. Straight direct hit on boundary will be 6 runs & indirect hit towards the boundary will be 4 runs

The Non Striker has to stand completely inside the STUMP BOX at the time of delivery of the ball.


Runner for the injured player will not be allowed

Each Team will have to carry their Own Bats, Kookaburra(Plastic Bats will not be allowed)


Batsman cannot be declared
Out rules: 

Clean Bowled, only Direct Catch will be considered as OUT 

Hit wicket will be considered as OUT. 


Stumping and Run out will also be considered as OUT. 

No L.B.W. 

If the ball hits nets on top or above the line in sideways directly, it would be declared as OUT. 

During POWER PLAY Over if Ball hits Side Nets, or Above Nets directly it will not be given OUT

If the Batsman is RUN OUT on a NO BALL, then the ball will be counted and the very next Ball will not be a FREE HIT


Time Rules: (Schedule of the match with time will be sent separately)
 
The toss will be held 15 minutes prior to the start time either on the pitch or at the scorer’s desk. 

Maximum 15 minutes will be given to the bowling team to complete their quota of 6 overs. 

Innings break for all the matches would be 2 minutes maximum. 
Special / Specific Instructions: 

Umpire decision will be the final decision for all technical issues. There shouldn’t be any arguments on the field regarding any decisions of Umpires. Any kind of Misbehaviours and/or an argument of any player(s) with Umpire’s decision will not be tolerated/entertained. 

If there are any disagreements on playground then only the captains are allowed to discuss the matters with the Umpires. No other players and their relatives are allowed. 


Maintaining the discipline and sportsmanship spirit on the ground is the captain’s responsibility. If any player found mis-behaving or losing his temperament on the field then strict action will be taken by committee management. 

In such situations the team will be disqualified from the tournament. Based on committee & umpires decision


Captain is allowed to replace one player on “Draw day” provided following circumstances arises/criteria matches if the player is injured. If the player has personal/professional commitments during tournament days. 

Apart from above mentioned conditions, Captain cannot replace the player. 

Once the Player has decided to withdrawn from this season/tournament then the same player cannot play from other team in this season too.
