? *VPL – Official Tournament Rules*

1. Match Format

• Each match consists of 12 overs per innings, following the “Sixit Ball” format.

• Teams will change sides after every over.

2. Powerplays

• Bowling Powerplay: First 3 overs — maximum 2 fielders outside the 30-yard circle.

• Batting Powerplay: Must be taken before the 10th over — maximum 3 fielders outside the 30-yard circle.

3. Bowling Restrictions

• A maximum of 2 bowlers can bowl up to 3 overs each.

• Only round-arm bowling is permitted.

• Throw bowling will result in a no-ball penalty without any warning.

• No-ball penalties will also apply in the following situations:

• If players talk during the bowler’s run-up.

• If the bowler does not inform the umpire about their bowling guard (e.g., over/around the wicket).

• If the wicketkeeper changes position without informing the umpire during the over in progress.

4. Extras

• No leg byes or LBW.

• No-balls, overthrows, and byes will follow standard T20 rules.

5. Team Management

• Playing XI must be announced before the match starts.

• Runners are allowed, subject to the opponent captain’s agreement.

* No outside players will be allowed throughout the tournament. Teams must play only with their registered squad.

6. Discipline

• The umpire’s decision is final and binding.

• Only the captain may approach the umpire for clarifications.

• Any indisciplinary behavior may result in disqualification or penalty runs.

• Each player must play a minimum of 2 matches, and team owners are responsible for ensuring this.

7. Timings and Penalties

• Reporting Time: Captains and players must report before the second innings.

• Second Match Preparation:

• Toss and squad announcement for the second match will occur during the first innings of the first match.

• Players for the next match must be ready immediately after the previous match concludes.

• Delays will be penalized by reducing fielders outside the 30-yard circle from the 12th over onward.

• Late teams must play with available players only — no substitute fielders allowed.

8. Scoring

• All scoring and match updates will be managed through the CricHeroes app.

9. Tournament Format

• Each team will play 3 league matches.

• The top 4 teams will progress to the playoffs, following the IPL-style format:

1. Qualifier 1 , Eliminator, Qualifier 2, Final
