SMI PREMIER LEAGUE – OFFICIAL RULES

⚡ General Rules

1. Match Format – All matches will be 10 overs per side.

2. Team Size – Each team must have 11 players (minimum 8 required to start).

3. Reporting Time – Teams must report to the committee 15 minutes before the match.

4. League Matches – Each team will play 2 matches in the league stage.

⚡ Bowling Rules

1. Bowling Limit –

   • 2 bowlers can bowl 3 overs each.

   • Remaining overs must be shared among 2–3 additional bowlers.

   • Maximum 4 to 5 bowlers must be used in a match.

2. Bowling Action – Any bowler with a throwing action may be disqualified or will not be allowed to bowl again in the same match.

3. No-Ball Rule – Overstepping = No-Ball Free Hit next delivery.

4. Wide Ball Rule – Each wide = 1 run and must be re-bowled.

⚡ Batting Rules

1. Retired Hurt – A batsman can resume only with umpire’s permission.

2. Boundary Rules – 4 runs if ball touches ground before boundary, 6 runs if clears without touch.

⚡ Fielding & Fair Play

1. Substitute Player – Allowed only for fielding, not batting/bowling.

2. Over-rate – Teams must complete 10 overs within 50 minutes.

⚡ Scoring & Results

1. Live Score Update – All matches will be scored on the CricHeroes App for live updates and transparency.

2. Points System – Win = 2 points, Loss = 0, Tie/No Result = 1 point.

3. Final Qualification – Based on the points table, the Top 2 teams will qualify for the Final.

4. Tie Breaker – In case of a tie, match will be decided by Super Over.

5. Net Run Rate (NRR) – Used to decide rankings in case of equal points.

⚡ Umpiring & Decisions

1. Umpire Decision Final – All players must respect the umpire’s decision.

2. Third Umpire Support – CricHeroes stats may be referred for doubtful dismissals if scorers/umpires agree.
