*IPL-Based Franchise Tournament*
1. *Tournament Objective*
Replicate the Indian Premier League style in a local tournament.
Bring in excitement with franchises, branding, auctions, and points tables.
2. *Franchise Creation*
Number of Teams: *12 – 16* franchises.
Franchise Names & Branding:
Creative city mascot style (e.g., Chennai Chargers, Bengaluru Titans).
Assign team colors, logos, and jerseys.
Franchise Owners:
Assign captains/managers as “owners”.
Owners can make team decisions like bidding and player line-up.
3. *Player Selection* (Auction Style)
Player Pool:
All participants register their names.
Categorize players into Batsman, Bowler, All-rounder, Wicketkeeper.
4. *Auction Process:*
Allocate virtual money (e.g., *5 Lakhs* points budget) to each franchise.
Bid for players in an open auction.
Ensure minimum squad size (e.g., 12 – 15 players).
5. *Tournament Format League Stage:*
Each team plays against every other team once within group.
Points System:
Win = 2 points
Tie/No result = 1 point
Loss = 0 points
Net Run Rate (NRR) used for tie-breaks.
6. *Match Rules*
Overs: 10 overs depending on available time.
Bowler Limits: One player can bowl a maximum of 2 overs.
Powerplay: First 3 overs with only 2 fielders outside the circle.
Tie-breakers: Super Over.
7. *Awards & Recognition Orange Cap – Highest run scorer.*
Purple Cap – Highest wicket taker.
MVP – Most Valuable Player.
Man of the Match – For each game.
Best Catch / Best Six – Fun awards.
Fair Play Award – For discipline.
Live Commentary & Music for entertainment.
Trophies & Medals for winners and awardees.
