YSECIT Cricket Tournament – Rules & Regulations (Men’s Cricket)

General Guidelines:

• Matches will be played using a RED Guru Tennis Ball.
• A team must have at least 7 players present to begin a match. Late arrivals (within 5 overs) may join, but only the initial 7 can bat if the rest are delayed.
• Delay penalties:  • Up to 30 min late – 1 over reduced per side  • Up to 45 min late – 2 overs reduced per side
• Umpire decisions are final. Captains must uphold game spirit.
• Players can participate in only one team.
• New ball each innings.  • Lost/broken ball before 2 overs – new ball issued  • After 2 overs – used ball provided
• All matches, including the final, will be 10 overs per side.

Powerplay Rules:

• First 3 overs are mandatory powerplay. Only 3 fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
• Non-powerplay: Minimum 4 fielders must remain inside the circle, else it’s a No-ball.
• 1-over Batting Powerplay between overs 4–8. If not taken, over 8 becomes default.

Impact Players:

• Maximum 2 Impact Players allowed per match.

Match Timing:

• Each innings: 35 minutes; 5-minute break between innings.
• Total match time: 75 minutes.

Team & Reporting:

• Teams may include a new player (not in original 13) with organizer consent.
• Short teams may merge to field 11 players.
• Report 15 mins before match time; toss held 15 mins prior.
• Prolonged arguments may result in walkover.
• Ties:  • League: 1 point each  • Knockout: Super Over  • If Super Over tied:   1. Most 6s   2. Most 4s   3. Fewer wickets lost
• NRR determines rankings in tied league points.

Super Over Rules:

• 3 batters, 1 bowler per team.
• Team batting second in match bats first in Super Over.

Weather:

• Matches interrupted by rain will resume from point of stoppage.

Batting Rules:

• Leg byes & overthrows allowed.
• All No-balls = free hit next delivery.
• Runners allowed only if injured during play (umpire & opponent captain must agree).
• Only initial XI can bat.
• Obstruction during run = OUT if deliberate.

Bowling Rules:

• Over limits (10-over match): 3–2–2–2–1
• One bouncer per over allowed (shoulder–head range).
• Head-high = wide. All No-ball types (foot, waist, fielding) = free hit.
• Changing bowling end requires umpire notification.
• Wicketkeeper bowling? Must inform umpire first.

Pitch Length:

• 21 yards

Fielding & Mankading:

• Max 5 fielders on leg side.
• Mankading allowed without warning in decisive situations.
• Subs allowed only with umpire permission.
