? WATA Super 8 Cricket Knockout Tournament – Rules
Tournament Format:
• Hard tennis
• Single-elimination (knockout) with League, Quarter, Semi, and Finals stages.
• 16 teams total.
• Matches before Finals played on half ground; Finals on full ground.
• Each game allotted 1 hour 15 mins; delays may reduce overs
Match Format
• Each innings: 8 overs.
Players
• 8 players per team. Minimum 4 players.
• Players cannot play for multiple teams.
• Substitutes only field; no bowling or batting.
Bowling Rules
• Max 2 overs per bowler.
• No-balls and wides = 1 extra run re-bowl.
• Ball above cone height = wide ball.
Batting Rules
• No LBW decisions.
• Runs (1, 2, boundaries) clarified on match day.
• Retired out/hurt rules per organizer.
Fielding Rules
• No inner circle.
• Fielders can position anywhere on half ground.
Timings & Delays
• Arrive 15 mins early.
• Be ready within 5 mins of start time.
• Late by 15 mins = walkover to opponent.
• Delays may reduce overs or cause forfeits.
Tie-Breaker
• Winner decided by most boundaries.
• If still tied, Super Over (if time) or coin toss.
Prizes
• Winner: $400
• Runner-up: $200
• Best Bowler: most wickets.
• Best Batsman: highest runs.
Conduct
• Uphold sportsmanship and respect.
• Umpire decisions final. Organizers will decide the umpire on match day.
• Organizer decisions final on conflicts.
• Misconduct may lead to suspension/disqualification.
Food
• No food provided by organizers
• Water & bananas will be provided
