Power Cup Season 3 Tournament Rules & Guidelines


Tournament Structure
The tournament is divided into two pools: *Saturday Pool and Sunday Pool*

Each team will play 5 league stage matches within their respective pool.

The top 3 teams from each pool will advance to the finals, which consist of:
Final
Platinum Cup
Gold Cup


The Gold Cup matches will be played on Saturday.

The Platinum Cup and Final will take place on Sunday.

Match Guidelines
Cricket Accessories & Safety
Helmets are mandatory for all players.

The Power Cup management will not be liable for any head injuries if a player chooses not to wear a helmet.

Basic first aid facilities will be available on-site.

Punctuality
Teams must report at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled start time.

Toss
The toss decision must be communicated immediately to the umpire.

Most Valuable Player (MVP)
Best Batter
Best Bowler
Best Catch
Highest Strike Rate (minimum 10 balls faced)

Overall Tournament Awards
Power Player – MVP of the tournament
Power Striker – Best Batter
Master of Wickets – Best Bowler
Golden Hands – Best Fielder
Fair Play Award – Team with the best sportsmanship

Match Details
Umpiring
The official umpire’s decisions are final, including LBW and Mankading (with one prior warning).

No disputes or arguments with umpires will be tolerated.

Refreshments
Refreshments will be provided for players.

Super Sub Rule
Each team may nominate one Super Sub.
All 12 players must be present on the ground before the 6th over is bowled.

Team Attire
A minimum of 9 players per team must wear jerseys during matches.
If fewer than 9 players wear jerseys, a 5-run penalty will be deducted from the team’s total score.
All matches will be played with a white ball.

Finals Eligibility
To qualify for the finals, a player must have participated in at least one league stage match.

Scheduling
Once scheduled, match timings and fixtures cannot be changed.

Rain & Rescheduling Policy
If a match cannot start due to rain, it will be declared abandoned and rescheduled to the end of the league stage.
If rain interrupts a match during the first innings and play cannot resume, the match will be declared abandoned and rescheduled.
If rain interrupts after the first innings is complete, the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method will be applied to determine the target.
For the DLS result to be valid, the team batting second must have completed at least 5 overs.

Game Format

Time Limit
Each innings will have a maximum time limit of 90 minutes.
Umpires will monitor over rates and may impose penalties for slow over rates at their discretion.

Powerplay & Power Surge
The first mandatory Powerplay is overs 1 to 4.
The batting team can nominate a 2-over Power Surge at any time between overs 5 to 18. And inform one over prior to umpire.
If the batting team does not nominate the Power Surge, overs 17 and 18 will automatically be designated as the Power Surge.
