Other Details

1.) Gajanan Cup 2025 will be a Wilson tennis ball box cricket tournament.
2.) The tournament consists of 12 teams, with a squad of 10 players each.
3.) The tournament will be conducted on league cum knockout basis.
4.) Teams will be divided into 4 groups consisting of three teams each - Group A, B, C and D.
5.) League matches will be played against the group - Group A vs Group B, Group C vs Group D.
6.) Top 8 teams from all groups combined will qualify for quarter finals. 
7.) Teams have to be present in the ground 30 minutes before the game start time. Timings will be
strictly followed, as we have to complete all matches within the stipulated ground timings.
8.) A minimum of 8 players are required at the time of the toss to start the match. Team will get walkover if the opponent team delays the match by more than 15 minutes.
9.) 8 overs per innings will be played for all matches.
10.) 8 bowlers to be used - Each bowler can bowl only one over. 
11.) Only Throw will be allowed. No bowling. Bowler has to stand and throw the ball. No step allowed. 
12.) Wicket Keeper can also bowl.
13.) If the ball is hit outside the court on the off side or leg side the player will be OUT. If the ball goes outside the straight nets directly, it’ll be a SIX.
14.) No last man batting allowed.
15.) Runner will not be allowed under any circumstances. 
16.) If the ball hits straight net directly, it’ll be a SIX. Otherwise a four. Side net, the ball is in play! 
17.) 30 minutes allotted per innings. In case of delay, the fielding team will be penalized.
18.) All 10 players of the squad are a part of the playing team. Any 8 can bat and bowl amongst the
squad of players.
19.) Any number of times, a fielder can be substituted by the fielding team.
20.) Winning team gets 2 points, losing team gets 0 points. In case of a tie, 1 point will be awarded
to each team. Super over, only for tie in a knockout game.
21.) If two or more teams end up with the same points after league stage, their position will be
determined by the Net Run Rate (NRR).
22.) We expect captains to give opportunity to every player in the squad in terms of batting,
bowling and fielding.
23.) Umpire’s decision will be final. Players found excessively appealing or sledging or abusing any player/umpire, will be immediately banned.
24.) The Porwal Youth Committee reserves the right to frame, amend or delete any of the rules and
regulations at any stage of the tournament, if found necessary.
