League Matches - No. of overs - 15 overs per inning
Minimum 8 bowlers to be used
Only 1 bowler can bowl 3 overs in an inning
Final Match -
No. of overs - 20 overs per inning
Minimum 8 bowlers to be used
One Bowler can bowl max 3 overs.
No. of Power Plays - 2
First 3 overs of every inning will be mandatory power play
Second power play of 3 overs to be called by batting team. If not called by them then last 3 over the inning will be mandatory power play
There will be no categorization (A, B) of batsmen during the tournament.
Batsman will be given out if
(a) ball lands outside the defined perimeter,
(b) if ball hits any object (except iron grill/ fence) and caught by the fielder before it touches the ground.
Fielding restrictions – During Powerplay, maximum of 3 fielders and in rest of the overs, 4 fielders are allowed on the boundary line (Fence Park).
In case of Ball lost in bushes or goes behind the wicket from the leg side open area then the batting team will be allowed 1 run.
In case of dispute, Umpire’s decision will be final.
Umpire to call the single/double runs loudly so that batsman can switch their positions if required as per the rule.
Batsman can be run out by the fielding team if he moves out of the crease before umpire’s declaration.
New Rules –
(a)
Umpires are not allowed to give playing suggestions to any player.
(b)
Free Hit will be available to batsman if
(i) bowler overstepped the crease,
(ii) ball passes or would have passed, without pitching, above the waist height of the striker subject to he is playing within the crease only.
If strike is not changed on the no-ball bowled then field placement cannot be changed for the free-hit as well.
(c)
Attha (8 Runs) rule – If the striker takes the shot and ball hit directly to iron grill square at long off (grill alongside green net area of straight boundary) then 2 Bonus runs will be added to team’s account i.e., total of 8 runs.
(d)
Bowler’s Delight – 1 extra over allowed per inning for the bowler who has taken 3 or more wickets in maximum allowed overs in an inning. Please note that max limit per bowler remains 3 over only.
(e)
Batsman standing
outside the
crease or comes out of the crease while charging at a ball can be
run out subject to ball is collected by the fielder after it hits the grill/perimeter wall behind the stumps. In the same scenario, non-striker can also be run out by the fielding team.
Umpire’s decision would be final, and they can enforce
5 runs penalty on the team in case of prolonged arguments or unprofessional behavior.
Best Performer will be chosen by the Umpire after giving due consideration to batting, bowling, and fielding performance of an individual. They can take help of Crichero app for the same though not mandatory.
Rest all rules will be the same as of normal Sunday JVT cricket.
