NPL 3.0 STAFF LEAGUE- Tournament Rules

1. The match will consist of 6 overs per innings.

2. The batting team will send two batsmen to the field at a time (pair batting)

for 2 (Two) overs each.

3. A batsman continue batting on being dismissed and will receive a negative

score of -3.

4. If a batsman fails to score a run for three consecutive deliveries, they will be

considered dismissed i.e 3 Dots = Out.

5. Extras, such as wides and no balls, will be penalized with 3 runs, and the ball

will be considered a legal delivery. However, in the last over, wides and no

balls will only cost 1 run, and the ball will not be considered a legal delivery. No

free hit will be awarded in either case.

6. Leg Before Wicket (LBW) will not be applicable, and therefore, leg byes will

not be awarded.

7. Byes and overthrows will be applicable.

8. If a batsman is caught off any net, they will be declared out except for the

Zone D or Back Net as defined below.

9. For a run to be scored, the ball must touch the net.

If a fielder's body touches the net but the ball does not, no runs will be

awarded.

Scoring Zones

Bonus Runs

- Zone A: Behind the keeper's net - 0 runs

- Zone B: Side nets up to the halfway mark - 1 run

- Zone C: Side nets from the halfway mark to the back net - 2 runs

- Zone D: Back net off the bowler - 4 runs (if the ball bounces off the ground

and then touches the net) or 6 runs (On Directly touching the net without any

ground contact)Physical Run

Physical runs scored shall be added to the bonus runs.

The batting team must complete a physical run to be eligible for bonus

runs. If the ball is hit into a bonus zone but no physical run is completed,

no runs will be awarded.

Run Multiplication

Runs will be multiplied from the minimum to the maximum zone.

For example, if the ball touches Zone B (1 run) and then Zone C (2 runs),

the total runs will be 3.

However, if the ball touches Zone D (6 runs) and then Zone B (1 run), the

total runs will still be 6.

Though, Overthrows from the fielder will not have any run multiplication

restrictions
