VTV CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2025 GUIDELINES
1. Match Format
Overs per Side: 12 overs.
Bowling Restrictions: Maximum 3 overs per bowler.
Power Plays:
Batting Power Play: 3 overs at the start of each innings, with only 2 fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
Bowling Power Play: 2 overs after the 8th over, with a maximum of 3 fielders outside the 30-yard circle. The bowling team will decide when to implement this power play.
Ball: A new tennis ball will be used for each innings.
2. Runs Scoring
Runs can be scored for Bye, Leg Bye, Wide Ball, No Ball, and Overthrow.
No Balls: Will result in a Free Hit, where only run-outs can result in a dismissal.
3. LBW Rule
Not Applicable: No batsman will be adjudged out for LBW (Leg Before Wicket).
4. Throw Bowling Prohibition
Strict Prohibition: Throw bowling exceeding 15 degrees is prohibited.
If reported, both umpires will review the situation. If confirmed, the bowler will be stopped from bowling further but may continue as a fielder or batsman.
5. Tied Matches
In the event of a tie, a Super Over will be used to decide the winner.
6. Points Calculation
Points for team qualification will be tracked and calculated using the CricHeroes app.
7. Running Between Wickets
No Designated Runners: Batsmen must run between the wickets themselves.
8. Wides and No Balls
These will result in extra runs and the delivery must be re-bowled.
9. Throw Bowling Penalty
If a bowler is identified for throw bowling, they will be disqualified from bowling in the tournament, but can continue as a fielder or batsman.
The umpire’s decision is final and binding.
10. Attendance and Attire
Arrival: Team members must arrive at the venue by 8:15 AM for the first match.
Attire: Players must wear proper sports attire, including track pants, sports shoes, and the company-provided T-shirt (mandatory).
11. Respect and Sportsmanship
Players must maintain high standards of respect and sportsmanship towards umpires and opposing teams.
Misconduct or arguments against the umpire’s decisions may lead to penalties, including team disqualification.
12. Cleanliness and Waste Disposal
Teams are responsible for maintaining cleanliness at the venue and must dispose of waste (e.g., plastic glasses, wrappers) in the designated dustbins.
13. Changing Players Without Informing Umpires
Penalty for Unauthorized Player Change: If a team changes a player during the match without informing the umpire:
The team will incur a penalty of 15 runs.
The new player will not be allowed to participate in the match unless the change is formally communicated to the umpire and the opposing team.
14. Final Authority
The umpire’s decisions are final in all matters. Teams disputing these decisions may face penalties, including disqualification.
