Here’s a breakdown of the tournament format and rules:
Tournament Structure:
1. Each team will play five league matches, scheduled randomly based on team availability.
2. The top four teams will qualify for the Gold Cup, following an IPL-style playoff format to determine the champion and runner-up.
3. Teams ranked 5th to 8th will compete in the Silver Cup, using the same IPL-style playoff structure.
Awards:
Deserving players from the Gold Cup will receive tournament awards.
Man of the series( English Willow bat)
Best bowler ( bowling cricket shoes)
Best batsman( gloves and pad)
Best captain ( Hat)
Fairplay award
Winner and runner up cup with mementos for 15 players of squad
Max sixes
Max fours
Economical bowler
Rising star
Etc and many more
Rules:
The latest ICC cricket rules will be followed.
Additional Big Bash rules will be incorporated as follows:
Bash Boost Point:
Example: If Team X scores 90 runs in their first 10 overs, and Team Y scores 91 runs within their 10 overs while chasing, Team Y will receive 4 points (3 for the win 1 bonus point) and vice versa.
Power Surge:
A two-over batting power play that can be taken any time after the first four overs.
Bash Boost:
A bonus point is awarded to the team with the most runs at the halfway point of their innings.
X-factor Replacements:
A substitute player can be introduced after 10 overs of the match.
Bat Flip:
Instead of a traditional coin toss, a bat flip will decide which team bats or bowls first.
