QPL 2024 Rules

• There will be 20 league matches + 3 playoff matches and a Final
• Overs - 10 Overs
• Powerplay
• Total of 2 power plays for a team
• 1st over each for each powerplay
• 2nd powerplay should be taken before 8th over. 
• In case the batting team doesn’t take batting powerplay until 7th over, 8th over will be batting powerplay.
• Only 2 fielders are allowed outside the inner circle during 1st powerplay and 3 fielders outside the circle during 2nd powerplay.
• A minimum of 4 fielders should be inside the inner circle always excluding bowler and wicket keeper.
• A bowler can bowl a maximum of 2 overs.
• First leg of league matches will be played using seasoned famex Balls.
• Second leg of league matches will be played using old famex Balls which has been used for 1 match.
• The batting team will have the freedom to choose 2 balls with which their innings will be played. Ball changing will be based on the umpire's decision.
• The team with the lowest point in the group stage will be eliminated.
• After the group stage, a four-game playoff stage is conducted, The playoffs comprise four matches:
• Qualifier 1: 1st Position vs 2nd Position
• Eliminator: 3rd Position vs 4th Position
• 2nd Qualifier: Winner Eliminator vs Loser Qualifier 1
• Final: Winner of Qualifier 1 vs Winner of 2nd Qualifier
• Each team should play a new player every game who has not played in the previous matches so that everyone gets a chance to play. This is applicable only for league matches.
• No LBW.
• There will be byes but not leg byes.
• Runners will not be allowed under any circumstances. If the batsman is not able to bat, he can be retired not out.
• When a batter is out Caught, the new batter shall come in at the end the striker was at, i.e. to face the next ball(unless it is the end of an over)
• All the players in the XI should be available before the start of the match
• If any player comes after the start of the match, he can bowl or bat only after the specified number of overs he was out of the field.
• Substitute is only allowed for the first 4 overs. If the fielding team can’t replace the substitute at the start of the 5th over, the fielding team has to play with 10 players or include the substitute player in the playing XI
• If the ball is broken when a batsman hits it or while in play, that will be a re-ball. If the ball goes for a six or four, then there will not be a re-ball. 
• Only 1 bouncer per over.
• If the bowler's foot touches the sideline, there will be a warning for the first time. If it touches the second time it will be a no-ball.
• Impact Player - The impact player rule allows each team to use substitution players in addition to their playing XI after the toss. During the game, one of these players from the non-playing XI can be called the Impact Player, can replace a member of the playing XI if it benefits the team's performance in the match. 
• Each and every player has to wear the official team jersey while playing. No player will be allowed to play without the official team jersey.
• Everyone should wear dark coloured lower preferably black or blue. No other colors will be allowed. Shorts won't be allowed.
• Jersey won’t be worn inside-out even if the batsman requests to change.
• No player will be allowed to play without shoes.
• Any obstruction other than the jersey should be changed/removed on request of the batsman.
• Decision of Umpires will be final during the matches.
• Incase of any disputes, the OC team will decide on the matter.
• All the QPL committee members/team captains should be present full day throughout the tournament.
