MUMBAI TIGERS CUP FORMAT
1. The Tournament shall consist of 2 stages. (League Stage followed by a knockout).
2. Participating teams 8nos,
League Stage: Two pools will be formed for league matches & all teams shall play cross pool. 4 league matches each. After the League stage all team ratings will be arrivedbasis of their Points & NRR.
Mumbai Tigers Shield: Bottom 4 Teams will compete for Mumbai Tigers Plate by playing semifinal 5vs8 & 6vs7, winner of semifinals will play finals.
Mumbai Tigers Cup: Top 4 teams will compete for Mumbai Tigers CUP by playing Semifinal 1vs4 & 2vs3, winner of semifinals will Play finals.
3. The Team with the highest points will be ranked higher.
If there are 2 or more teams with the same points then the team with the Best Net Run Rate [NRR] will be placed higher in the league ranking.
4. Each innings will be limited to Twenty [20] overs & there will be no drinks break. In case of the match not starting on time, Sports Committee can reduce the overs and the
same will be final and binding for all teams even D/L can be implemented.
5. Each team has a maximum of 90 minutes to bowl their overs. If bowling team fails to complete their 20 overs in 90 minutes, in that scenario the game will stop and the
number of overs bowled short, will be multiplied by 3 runs/ball [penalty runs] and added to the opposition score. Match officials will take a final call on the same and the same will be final and binding for all teams.
6. Power Play - 9 players [including bowler & the wicketkeeper] in the ring for the 1st 4 overs [Power Play]. 8 players [including bowler & the wicketkeeper] in the ring for batting power play between 11th - 20th over if not taken till the 18th over then by default the last 2 overs [19th & 20th over] will be the batting power play overs.
7. Super Sub [Max. 2/match] - Super Sub’s must be named before the game began (even before the coin tossed), and he could replace any player from the playing XI at any point in the game. The concept of a Super Sub is di erent from that of the 12th man. Unlike the 12th man, Super Sub could either Bat OR Bowl. He’s allowed to bowl / bat without fielding.
8. In case of a tie in League matches, both the teams get 1 point each. But during Knock-out stage, teams shall compete in a super over to decide the winner.
