ISLANDER'S CUP 2024 CRICKET TOURNAMENT RULES

### General Rules

I. *Team Composition*: Each team consists of ll players, with a minimum of 7 players required to start a match.

1. *Match Duration*: Each innings is limited to 8 overs. The total match duration, including a 10-minute innings break, should be around 90 minutes.
2. *For Semi Final and Final - Match Duration*: Each innings is limited to 10 overs.
3. *Overs*: Each over consists of 6 legal deliveries. In the final over of each innings, 6 legal balls must be bowled, regardless of wides or no-balls.

### Power Play

I. *Mandatory Power Play*: The first 2 overs of each innings are mandatory power play overs, during which only 2 fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle.

2. *Fielding Restrictions*: During non-power play overs, a maximum of 5 fielders can be outside the 30-yard circle.

### Bowling Restrictions

1. *Bowler Limits*: No bowler can bowl more than 2 overs in an innings.
2. *Wide and No-Balls*: Each wide or no-ball will result in I extra run and an additional delivery.

### Batting Rules

I. *Super Over*: In case of a tie, a Super Over will be played to determine the winner.

2. *Retired Hurt*: A batsman who is retired hurt can return to bat only after the fall of the next wicket.

### Fielding Rules

1. *Substitutes*: Substitutes are allowed for fielding but cannot bowl or bat unless replacing an injured player.
2. *Over Rate*: Teams must complete their 8 overs within 40 minutes. Failure to do so may result in penalties.

### Conduct and Fair Play

I. *Spirit of the Game*: Captains are responsible for ensuring their teams play within the spirit of the game.

2. *Umpire Decisions*: The on-field umpire's decision is final. Any disputes should be resolved amicably.

*## Tournament Format

I. *Round Robin*: Teams play each other once in a round-robin format. The top 2 teams advance to the final.

2. *Points System*: Win = 2 points, Tie/llo Result = I point, Loss = U points.
