Rules & Regulations

1. A maximum of 11 players and 2 substitutes per team are to be nominated when registering for the tournament. A player is not allowed to register in more than one team.

2. The Substitute players after announcing the playing 11 during the toss, can only field. They can't bowl or bat. Anyhow he can bat or bowl only if the opposition Captain of that match accepts to allow him to do so.

3. The Opponent Captain can also allow another team player to field for the required team. But Strictly a player cannot bowl or bat for the other teams.

4. Each game shall be played between 2 teams of 11 players. The tournament will be on knock out basis.

5. A game consists of a maximum of 10, and 6 ball-overs per team.  

6. The batting team shall be awarded 4 runs for each wide or no-ball bowled.

7. Wide and no ball cannot be re-bowled, except for the last ball of the innings’ final over (i.e., the last ball of the final over has to be of legitimate delivery).   

8. No Free-Hit for No Ball.   

9. Any ball, after bouncing, passes the batsman above shoulder height (when standing upright), or would have passed him above shoulder height if it struck his bat or body, shall be called a No Ball.  

10. Any ball that, having not bounced (i.e., non-pitching deliveries) after leaving the bowler’s hand, passes the batsman above his waist height and would, in the opinion of the umpire, have passed the popping crease above waist height, shall be called a No Ball.   

11. There must be 5 fielders on the offside and 4 fielders on the leg side. Any violation in the fielding position will be called “No Ball”.  

12. There are no LBWs and therefore no Leg Byes. Bye runs are allowed.  

13. A batsman must retire ‘not out’ upon reaching a personal score of 30 runs but cannot retire before reaching 30 runs. The batsman may complete all runs possible off the stroke that takes him to 30, and the full score shall count. If one of the last pair of batsmen is out, any retired “not out” batsman may resume his innings. If more than one batsman retires, then they must return in the order in which they retired. If not, the batsman who does not return in order will automatically be “retired out”. Please note, that a retired ‘not out‘ batsman is not required to retire again. 

14. A batsman will be declared out if the ball he hits goes beyond the barrier without bouncing on the ground.

15. The last batsman is allowed to play.   

16. If the 9th wicket falls, the remaining not-out batsman takes the strike and the dismissed batsman remains only as a runner.   

17. For the last batsman as in Rule 14, in the case of a single or 3 runs: once the runs are complete and both runners are safe, the not-out batsman must return to the striking end to face the next delivery. 

18. If the not-out batsman is dismissed or the runner is run out, the innings is complete.   

19. Each bowler can bowl a maximum of 2 overs (i.e. a team requires a minimum of 5 bowlers at least).

20. If any fielders are not on the field within 2 overs when the first game commences, the side in question must play the whole game with the number of players on the field at the start of the game.   

21. If a match ends in a tie, there will be a super over. This applies to all matches.  

22. Any team which fails to appear at their appointed time, will be considered to have forfeited the game. 

23. In the event of disruptions to the match schedule for any reason (e.g., inclement weather or shortage of balls, etc) at any stage of the competition, final positions and/or results shall be decided based on the overall run rate (total runs scored divided by the number of legitimate balls received). Total Runs: Includes no ball and wide ball runs. Legitimate Balls: Excludes no balls and wide balls. 

24. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend these rules at any time if it considers such an action to be in the best interests of the competition. 

25. Decisions of the Umpires in the field of play, shall be final. The Organizing Committee shall take appropriate action against any player misconduct or unfair play during the tournament.

26. All event participants should comply with the Prevention and Control of Disease stipulated by the law, as well as special measures announced by the LCSD to be adopted at leisure facilities.
