split into 14 groups, 3 teams in each group. Winner of each group will automatically qualify for
the pre-quarter final. Remaining 28 teams will be ranked on the basis of their points tally followed
by NRR. Top 4 teams out of these 28 teams will play 2 additional matches called “Eliminators”.
Winner of each of these eliminators will join 14 group toppers for the pre-quarterfinal stage. All
matches from eliminator stage onwards will be knock out.
2. General rules and guidelines:
a. Results and Points calculation:
During the league phase, winner of the match will be awarded 2 points. All league matches
will follow compulsory chase down rule. i.e. Team batting second has to chase down the
target set by the opposing team. Failure to chase the target will result in a loss for the team
batting second. There will not be a Tie in case of same score scored by both teams. In case
of a knock out round match being a Tie (other than the Final), team which loses less number
of wickets will be declared as a Winner. In case both teams lose equal number of wickets,
team whose openers score more runs (Total runs by Openers) will be declared as Winner.
Toss will be the final tie breaker to determine the Winner of that particular match. Only in
case the Final is tied, then there will be a Super Over. In case the Super Over is tied then
above-mentioned process will be followed to determine the Winner.
1 Bonus point will be awarded to the team which wins with NRR of 0.50 in that particular
match.
NRR = (No. of Runs scored/No. of balls faced) - (No. of runs conceded/No. of balls bowled)
