MSD CUP - 2024 Season III

Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament Rules & Regulations:

 

  • This tournament would be played with Green Wilson Tennis ball (1,2,3,0r 4)
  • Each innings would start with a new ball.
  • In case a ball is being lost or broken, replacement balls would be provided as per requirement.
  • All matches would be of knockout basis.
  • Bowling restrictions: Mandatory 5 bowlers should be utilized for all the matches -> If 8 Overs match (2-2-2-1-1) and If 7 Overs match (2-2-1-1-1).
  • One bouncer is allowed per over, if 2nd bouncer then it is called as No ball.
  • Bowler should tell the bowling guard and it is mandatory. Else it will be a No ball.
  • Power Play:
  • First 2 overs are mandatory power play (If 8 overs or 7 overs).
  • Only 2 players can field outside the 30 yard circle during power play over’s.
  • During the non-power play overs minimum of 4 fielders should be present within the 30 yard circle, failure to do so during a delivery of a ball would be called as a No-ball by the umpire.
  • Match Duration: Each innings must be completed in 40 minutes and innings break is 2 minutes.
  • Team should report 40 minutes prior to the scheduled match start time.

Toss would be held 15 minutes before the match start of the scheduled time.

  • Minimum of 8 players are required from a team to start the match. Failure to do so would yield a walkover to the opposition team. Remaining players must arrive within 2overs. In case of a failure only the fielded 8 would be allowed to bat.
  • On-field umpire’s decision would be the final one. If any issue with umpire decision, our committee team will decide.
  • Captain’s responsibility to uphold spirit of the game by his team.
  • In case of a tie, then super over will be held.
  • If match is stopped due to rain, then we will have a rematch from the start.
  • Mankad rules: No Action is required from the bowler, Bowler can hit the stumps in any ways, If the non-striker is out of his crease while the time of play expected to release the ball and the non-striker is liable to be run out.
  • All “no-balls” result in a free hit in the next delivery.
  • Chucking is not allowed, if you see any then batsman must inform umpires before they bowl.
  • Only 5 fielders will be allowed on the leg side excluding the bowler and keeper. If the 6th fielder is placed (bowler & keeper excluded) then it can be called a No-Ball irrespective of whether bowler is bowling over or around.
  • New batsman should be on strike while wicket is gone.
  • While bowlers are bowling(Bowler run up), fielder should not talk or side walking. If anything noticed by umpire, then it will be called as No ball)
  • Keeper change is not mandatory.
  • Any issues while playing, only captain should come and talk.
  • Any form of misconduct, including verbal or physical abuse, then the team will be disqualified.
  • Individual awards and prizes would be decided by the organizing team, taking into consideration the stats by CricHeroes App and Committee.
  • Every team should be ready at least 5 minutes before match start time.
  • Any delay in starting a game OR slow over rate would result to penalties in favor of the opposition.
