  3. At the league match stage, in the event of a tie where the scores of both the teams are level at the end of the match, each team will be awarded with 2 points.

  4. The top team with the highest points in each group will advance to the Semi-Finals.

  5. Remaining two teams in the group will play an eliminator against each other to decide on the 2nd & 3rd Spot for that particular group.

  6. A duly respected ex senior cricketer will be appointed as Tournament Director for the entire tournament who shall be conducting the tournament and shall be the authority to take calls inter alia in disruptive, complicated, disputed and unclear situations.

  7. In the event of teams in the group finishing with equal number of points, the team having the best average per wicket in that particular group i.e. total number of runs scored in the 2 league matches divided by total number of wickets lost (excluding batsmen retired as set out in clause 15) in the 2 league matches, will advance to semifinals. In the unlikely event of equal average, the winner of the league encounter between those two teams will progress to quarter finals. In case the league encounter between the teams was a tie then the qualifying team would be decided by means of a toss.

  8. In the event of a tie during the Eliminators, Semi Finals and/or Final, the winner will be decided by both the teams playing a ‘Super Over’:-

    8.1 For Super Over, each team should select 3 batsmen and a bowler with others as fielders to play the Super Over, which consists of only 1 over. The batting side will have only 2 wickets. A new ball will be given for the Super Over and both the teams have to bowl with the same ball. The team scoring maximum runs in the Super Over will be considered as the winner of the match;

    8.2 The team who has batted second in the tie match will have to bat first in the Super Over. If again the scores are tied then the winner will be decided by a bowl out. In a bowl out 5 players of each team shall bowl one ball each directed at a set of stumps. The team with the highest number of hits to the stumps shall be declared a winner;

    8.3 In an unlikely event of a tie after the bowl out, the winner will be decided by a toss, where the captain of each side and Tournament Director will toss the coin and decide the winner.

  9. Each squad shall consist of 13 members comprising of 12 Players and a Manager. Playing team shall comprise of 8 members. Each member of the squad should be a full time employee/member of the representing Company/Firm.

  10. Each inning in the League Matches as well as the Semi Finals will be of 7 overs comprising of 6 deliveries.

  11. CHALLENGE OVER: During each innings of match, batting side has an option to choose a “challenge over” at any given point of time before the over starts. Batting side will decide no.of runs they will score in that particular over.

    1. 11.1  If the Batting side scores equal to or more runs than the predicted no.of runs they will get double the no.of runs than the predict score. & that particular over will get completed at the very moment no.of runs are achieved. E.g A team predicts 12 runs and scores 14 runs in first 3 deliveries of the over, the over will get terminated and the batting team will get 24 runs.

    2. 11.2  If the batting side doesn’t achieve the no.of runs predicted in the “Challenge Over” they won’t get a single run.E.g A team predicts 12 runs but scores only 11 runs in the over they won’t get any run for that particular over.

  12. Restriction of a maximum of 4 fielders on the leg side of the wicket will be imposed. 2 fielders at all times will be required to be standing within the inner circle.

In the event the team is participating with 7 players, each of the 7 players including wicket keeper would be required to bowl one over each. It is intended that each player should be allowed to bowl only one over in a game.

  15. A batsman will retire when his individual score is equal to or beyond 24 runs (any scoring shot, which takes a player beyond 24 runs would be the last scoring shot for the player). The retired batsman can come back to bat again on fall of all other wickets.

  16. The first ball faced by any batsman shall be treated as FREE HIT and thus the batsman can not be declared out on such delivery except for being Run-Out.

  17. Wide ball shall accrue 6 runs to the batting team and no extra delivery will be awarded to the batting team for a wide ball, except for the last over of each innings where besides 6 bonus runs, the bowler will have to bowl an extra delivery.

A No ball shall accrue an additional 6 runs to the batting team and will not be re-bowled, except for the last over of each innings where besides 6 bonus runs, the bowler will have to bowl an extra delivery. In a case of a No Ball (Over stepping only) being declared by the umpire, the following delivery will be a “FREE HIT”. In a Free Hit, the batsman cannot be declared out, except by way of Run-Out.

  19. No bowler can extend his bowling run up beyond the Demarcated Line (approx. 8 strides). Also, the wicket keeper will not be allowed to stand beyond the demarcated line.

  21. This event has been initiated with a purpose of supporting the game and with a view to create deeper bonds and friendships amongst professional colleagues. With this in view, the decision taken by the umpires and the Tournament Director shall be final and binding and each team shall respect the same in very healthy and sporting manner.

  22. Players are not allowed to carry mobiles on the cricket field during the course of an on going match.

  23. Match T-shirts for each player will be provided by HLRU and it will be mandatory for each player taking field to wear said T-shirt. All players are expected to take the field in sports shoes and each team shall be expected to wear a uniform track pant in black /navy blue color.

  24. Refreshments/meal/snack shall be provided by HLRU and the coupons for 15 members per team will be provided by HLRU depending on the match schedule(s) of each team.

  25. Interpretation of the aforementioned rules, their construction and effect along with those issues that may be created during the course of the matches which do not form part of the aforesaid rules, rests entirely with the Tournament Director. All decisions taken by the Tournament Director in the context of the situation and event will be final and binding on the participating teams and players.

    We look forward to your whole hearted, fair and competitive approach to make this thoughtful initiative of HLRU a grand success in its first edition.

    While a kit with cricketing equipments will be provided to the participating teams by HLRU, the teams can very well carry their own kits to their suitability.
