Shrut Patel shone with a fivestar show as Shree Vidyanagar School (SVS) edged out Hiramani School by virtue of the first innings lead in multiday under-14 HC Kapasi School Tournament at Sardar Patel Stadium in Navrangpura. Electing to bat, Jinay Shah top-scored with 152-ball 53 while Kritan Tripathi chipped in with 192-ball 43 as SVS posted 209 in the first innings.
For Hiramani School, Raj Raghwani was the pick of the lot with three wickets while Ayan Trivedi and Rudra Patel took two wickets each. Shrut then shocked the rivals with five wickets as SVS bowlers put aleash around the rival batsmen. Shivam Tripathi took three wickets as SVS bowled out Hiramani School for 118 to take the deciding first innings lead. Dev Patel then added 88-ball 33 as SVS batted out the remaining overs posting 68 for two in the second innings.
