Rupana Cricket Tournament 2019 was organized between 20th Mar.’19 to 25th Mar.’19 at Muktsar.
33 teams from various verticals participated in this much celebrated tournament, from which an all-important final was played between Mehrana Stars and Doda Monu on 25th Mar.’19 at Govt.Sen Sec School Rupana- Muktsar.
Electing to bat, Mehrana Stars got an excellent start as the opening batsman Raman was on fire and he smashed 74 runs in just 26 balls with 7 boundaries and 6 sixes. Gullu Sandeep too supported him well from the other end as he scored useful 25 runs putting team at commanding position. With most of the players contributing well, team put up a big score of 158 runs in 14 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Parma Surgapuri from Doda Monu with 2 wickets.
While replying, Doda Monu too started well with Gagandeep Brar and Nawab scoring 24 and 19 runs respectively at fast pace. It was followed by a strong innings by Jarnail Doda, who added 21 runs off 19 balls. Despite trying well, team failed to score at required pace and went on losing wickets at regular intervals. Bowling highlight of the innings was Vikas from Mehrana Stars, who scalped 3 wickets in 3 overs restricting the opponent from scoring well. Doda Monu close the innings at the score of 125 runs in 14 overs by losing 8 wickets.
Mehrana Stars posted a 33 run win over Doda Monu in the final of Rupana Cricket Tournament 2019.
Raman from Mehrana Stars was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding performance.
