Dosti Premier League - (Season 1) Rules
1. There will be 12 matches played in group stage. Each team will play 6 matches followed by Semifinal & final.
2. Team that wins a match will get 2 points each.
3. It will be 5 over game. Only 1 player can bowl 1 over each in a match.
4. Remaining 2 out of 3 players who has not bowled in that match will get to bat first only in league stage.
5. Opening pair(any 1 player) should be different from the last match.
6. In general, maximum 3 fielders will be allowed at the boundary line.
7. Also, maximum 5 fielders will be allowed to field after the bowling side stump line.
8. Bowler must tell his bowling side to umpire prior starting their over. Failing to do so will result in noball.
Turf Roof Rules
9. If the ball hits the roof and touches the boundary line directly,then it will be declared as Six.
10. If the ball hits the roof and if the fielder catches the bowl,then it will be declared as out.
11. If the ball hits the side net and touches the boundary line, then it will be declared as Four.
12. If the ball hits the side net and if the fielder catches the ball then it will be declared as not out.
WicketKeeper Rules
13. Keeping wicketkeeper is not mandatory.
14. If a ball edges the bat and goes past behind the stumps, then Batsmen needs to complete the run in order to score a run. There will no easy or declared singles in absence & presence of wicketkeeper.
15. Runs scored during overthrow will be counted on scoreboard.
No Ball Rules
16. If the bowler bowls the delivery above the batsmen waist, then it will be declared as a no ball.
17. If the bowler bowls delivery above the waist line and if the ball hits the stumps,then it will be declared as Out.
18. If the ball pitches directly after the batting stumps, then it will declared as no ball.
19. If the bowler's entire toe/foot crosses the no ball line,then it will be declared as a no ball.
20. If the bowler steps on the side line while bowling,then it will be considered as a normal delivery and not a noball.
21. If the bowler pitches the ball outside the pitch,then it will be called as No Ball.
22. In case if Batsmen charges down the pitch and if bowler bowls the ball above the batsmen's shoulder height ,then it will be declared as a no ball
Bowler Runup Rules
23. Bowler is allowed to take maximum two steps to bowl the ball.
24. If the Bowler bowls the delivery by taking more than 2 steps in the runup,then the opponent team or umpire will have the right to give them a warning. Post warning if the bowler still continues doing so,then it will be declared as a no ball by umpire.
25. Only 3 taps are allowed for a bowler while bowling. If the bowler taps the bowl for the 4th time, 1 penalty run will be added to opponent team's scoreboard.
Umpire Rules
26. There will be 3 umpires in a match. One at bowling stump,leggie and a boundary umpire.
27. Umpires decision will be final.
28. Umpires will have the right to consult with leg umpires or boundary umpires if they are not sure of their decision.
29. If any team keeps on arguing with the umpires for runout and other decisions then umpires will have the right to penalize the team by adding or removing 2 runs from the scoreboard.
Tie scenario
30. In league matches,Team batting second must compulsorily chase runs. If it's a tie,then Team batting first will win the match.
31. In case of a tie in semifinal & finals, both teams will play a super over.
32. Each Team must nominate 3 players for batting.
33. The 3 players who will be nominated for batting will not have the right to bowl the superover.
Miscellaneous
34. In case if any player from any team is not available,then that team can replace a player from other team from the same slot. The replaced player can only bowl 1 over in a match.
35. At the end of league stage,only points will be considered as a metric.NRR will not be considered.
36. If any player or support staff members indulges in below activities then the players team will be penalized with 5 runs.
1. Chewing or Spitting tobacco on turf.
2. Smoking cigarette on turf.
3. Creating unnecessary loud sound when batsmen is batting.
37. If any team doesn't follow the rules of opening pair,then 2 points will be deducted from Team's point.
