BUKSS is Barak Valley Sports Journalists Association. In Bengali, it is called Barak Upatyaka Krira Sangbadik Sangstha. The Association was established in 1997. Riten Bhattacharjee is it's president and Md Taz Uddin is the General Secretary. In 2013, BUKSS started its annual media cricket tournament. Dainik Jugasankha won first five tournaments. BvEMA was runners for four times. Dainik Janakantha was runners in 2015. Among other teams Samayik Prasanga, Dainik Prantajyoti, Doordarshan and Nababarta Prasanga played upto semifinals in different years. Other participating teams were Media XI, Hailakandi Press Club, Karimganj Media XI. 

In 2018, the format of the tournament has been modified. Media persons participating in the tournament under different sponsor teams. Hailakandi Press Club is as Dreams Hailakandi Press Club Challenges, Media XI is Shiv Durga Media panthers. Karimganj Press Club is Shipras Karimganj Press Club Strikers. 
Three new teams are News, Khobor and Press. They are named as Aabeg News Rockers, Aminaz Khobor Heroes and YASE Press Fighters.  
Like other years, the playing format is league cum knockout basis. Two teams from each group will qualify for the semi finals.
