Official Rules & Regulations
 
Welcome to the Ceramics Premier League 2025! Below are the official rules, regulations, and format designed to ensure a thrilling and fair tournament. All participating franchises, teams, and players must adhere to these guidelines to maintain the spirit of the game.
 
1. Match Format
 
Overs: Each match will consist of 15 overs, played with a hard tennis cricket ball.
 
Power Play: The first four overs are designated as the power play, with only three fielders allowed outside the inner circle.
 
Changing of Ball:
 
The first four overs must be played with a new ball.
 
After the fourth over, the batsmen have the option to change the ball if they choose.                      
 
Fielding Restrictions:
 
After the power play, a maximum of five fielders is allowed outside the inner circle.
 
A maximum of five fielders is permitted on the leg side, excluding the bowler.
 
 
Scoring Extras: Byes, leg byes, and overthrows are applicable.
 
No-Ball Rules:
 
A full toss above waist height or the stumps will be considered a no-ball.
 
No free hit is awarded for no-balls.
 
 
Bowling Rules:
 
A bowler may bowl a maximum of three overs per match.
 
Bouncers:
 
One bouncer per over is allowed; a second bouncer will be a no-ball.
 
A bouncer above head height will be called a wide.
 
 
Bowlers do not need to notify the umpire of their delivery style unless changing mid-over.
 
If a batsman plays a reverse sweep, the bowler can legally bowl within the wide line on either side.
 
 
Punctuality:
 
Each team must have at least eight players present for the toss.
 
For every five-minute delay, one over will be deducted from both teams.
 
 
Retired Hurt: A batsman retired hurt may return only after the 9th wicket falls.
 
Team Arrival: Teams must arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
 
Wicketkeeper: The wicketkeeper is allowed to bowl.
 
2. Super Over
 
In the event of a tie, a Super Over will determine the winner.
 
Each team will send three batsmen, and the Super Over ends if two wickets fall.
 
3. Impact Player Rule:
 
Each team can nominate one Impact Player before the match begins.
 
The Impact Player can replace any member of the playing XI during the match.
 
Substitution can be made:
 
At the end of an over.
 
After a wicket falls.
 
If a batter retires.
 
 
The Impact Player can bowl their full quota of overs or bat irrespective of the replaced player’s performance.
 
Only one Impact Player is allowed per match, chosen from the 4 substitutes listed before the toss.
 
4. Umpiring & Sportsmanship
 
Final Decisions: Umpires' decisions are final and binding.
 
Umpiring Assistance: Each captain must designate a player knowledgeable in umpiring.
 
Power Play Attendance: All team members must be present before the end of the power play. Late arrivals are ineligible unless agreed upon by the opposing captain.
 
Playoff Eligibility: A player must participate in at least one league-stage match to qualify for the playoffs.
 
5. League Stage & Playoff Format
 
League Matches: Teams will play in a round-robin format, with the top four advancing to the playoffs.
 
Playoff Format:
 
Qualifier 1: Team 1 vs. Team 2.
 
Eliminator: Team 3 vs. Team 4.
 
Qualifier 2: Loser of Qualifier 1 vs. Winner of Eliminator.
 
Final: Winner of Qualifier 1 vs. Winner of Qualifier 2.
 
6. Grand Finale
 
The CPL Final will be held at a grand venue, to be announced later.
 
7. Match Resumption
 
In unavoidable situations, the match will be paused and resumed from the point it was stopped on a later date.
 
8. Disqualification Rule
 
Any player or team engaging in unsportsmanlike behavior or misconduct will face immediate disqualification.
 
9. Prizes
 
Winner: 1000 AED Trophy.
 
Runner-Up: 500 AED Trophy.
 
Man of the Tournament: 200 AED Trophy.
 
Orange Cap Winner (Most Runs): 100 AED Trophy.
 
Purple Cap Winner (Most Wickets): 100 AED Trophy.

 
Man of the Match: Awarded for each match.
