One of the most celebrated tournaments of Solapur- SPL Solapur Premier League 2018 - organized by SDCA (Solapur District Cricket Association) was played between 28th Apr.’18 to 20th May’18.
Out of 8 participant teams, the crucial final of this heavily followed tournament was played between DM Kings and Apte Tigers on 20th May’18 at Indira Gandhi Park Stadium, Solapur.
Electing to bat, DM Kings got a good start with both the opening batsmen Pravin Deshetty and Sarubh Barle scoring 49 and 22 runs respectively at fast pace. However, team did lose some important wickets during middle overs and team closed the innings at the score of 126 runs in 20 overs after losing all the wickets. Sachin Bandgar from Apte Tigers was the pick of the lot as he took 3 important wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, despite trying really well, Apte Tigers failed to score at required rate. Amar Karande and Ishwar Patange were the top scorers with 34 and 27 runs respectively. Remaining players failed to make a mark and team ended up scoring 112 runs at the end of 20 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. Pravin Vajmane’s effective bowling proved to be the game changer for his team as managed to pick 4 important wickets in 4 overs restricting Apte Tigers from reaching at the target. Pravin Deshetty and Shubham Jangavali too chipped in with 2 wickets each damaging the batting line up of the opponent team completely.
DM Kings showed better nerves at they eked out a 14 runs win over Apte Tigers in the final of SPL- Solapur Premier League 2018.
Pravin Deshetty from DM Kings was awarded as the player of the match.
