One of the most cherished tournaments of Surat- 1st IYP Night Cricket T20 Tournament 2018 was played between 10th Mar.’18 to 15th May’18.
Out of 12 participant teams, the final was played between Kosad XI Surat and Nabipur C C on 15th May’18 at Pipodra - surat.
Electing to bat Kosad XI Surat played a very good innings and posted a good score of 187 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Team had a strong line up and almost all the players contributed significantly for the final score. Opening batsman Amit top scored with 64 runs in 47 balls. Other major contributor was Pramod, who added important 26 runs in 11 balls during crucial overs. Most of the bowlers failed to restrict the run flow of Kosad XI Surat. However, pick of of the bowlers was Azim, who managed to pick 2 wickets in 4 overs.
While replying, Nabipur C C started to fumble from early overs against the strong bowling attack by Kosad XI Surat. Team went on losing wickets at regular intervals, which resulted in slow pace and team crumbled making 103 runs in 16.2 overs. Highest scorer was Azim with 30 runs. Though all the bowlers of Kosad XI Surat performed really well, the show stealer was Juber, who rattled the rival’s boat by taking 4 wickets in just 2.2 overs giving 11 runs. Pankaj too bowled really well as he gave only 5 runs in 3 overs and picked an important wicket, which restricted the opponent from reaching at the target.
Kosad XI Surat came up with all-round performance and won the final with the huge margin of 81 runs against Nabipur C C in 1st IYP Night Cricket T20 Tournament 2018.
Amit from Kosad XI Surat was awarded as the player of the match.
