Rajasthan Cricket League 2018- organized by Rajasthan Sports Club - Vadodara was played between 9th May’18 to 11th May’18.
Out of the 16 participant teams, the crucial final was played between Signature 11 and Baroda XI on 11th May’18 at SRP Ground- Lal Baugh, Vadodara.
Electing to bat, Signature 11 failed to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. Dev M Suthar was the highest run getter with 32 runs off 26 balls. The other contributor was Viru Patel, who managed to add 18 runs in 14 balls. None of the remaining players managed to go beyond single digits and team collapsed at the score of 84 runs in 12.3 overs. Almost all the bowlers of Baroda XI played well, Sharma Rupam bowled exceptionally well and scalped 3 wickets in 3 overs by giving 14 runs. Jayendra Rajput too chipped in with important 3 wickets in crucial overs restricting Signature 11 from putting up a big score.
Though the target was not very difficult to defend, Baroa XI struggled till the last over against strong bowling attack by Signature XI. Opening batsmen Nayan Pandya and Amit Suthar did not manage to give a good start and got out at a low score. However, Captain Rajesh Jangid, who remained unbeaten at the score of 27 runs almost single handedly cruised team towards the final win. Signature XI bowled extremely well and took wickets at regular intervals, which made the target even more difficult for the opponent team. Baroda XI chased down the target in the last over with 1 wicket on hand.
Baroda XI won a nail biting final by 1 wicket against Signature XI in Rajasthan Cricket League 2018.
