Cheriyamane Gowda Cup 2018 by Kodagu Gowda Yuva Vedike Madikeri was organized between 15th Apr.’18 to 5th May’18 at Madikeri.
Out of the 6 participant teams, the crucial final of this much celebrated tournament was played between Team Kudupaje and Team Thaloor on 5th May’18 at General Thimmaiah Madikeri.
Team Thaloor won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, they bowled out Team Kudupaje at a meager score of 49 runs at the end of 12 overs. Highest scorer was Sachin with 20 runs in 18 balls. None of the remaining players managed to go beyond single digits against strong bowling attack from Team Thaloor. With all the bowlers doing a wonderful job, pick of the bowlers was Jeethu from Team Thaloor, who took rivals for a spin with 3 wickets in 3 overs by giving 11 runs. Pavan Thaloor and Viju too scalped 2 wickets each hampering batting line up of the opponent team badly.
It was an easy target for Team Thaloor as team started well with opening batsman Vicky scoring 14 runs in 10 balls. Jeethu shone again with bat as his 21 runs off 17 balls made light work for Team Thaloor to knock off 50 runs in just 7.4 overs with the loss of 4 wickets.
