Second Division Prize Money Cricket League Cum Knockout Tournament 2017-18 In Memory Of Surendra Chandra Basak - organized by District Sports Association Silchar was played between 11th Apr.’18 to 1st May’18 at Silchar.
Out of 24 participant teams, the crucial final of this tournament was played between Tarun Sangha and Eleven Star on 1st May’18 at Silchar DSA Ground.
Tarun Sangha won the toss and elected to bat. Team started well with opening batsman Azarul Khan scoring 49 runs steadily. Jakaria Ahmad Barbhuiya supported well from the other end as he made 27 off 27 balls. However, team collapsed after his dismissal and almost all the players scored in single digits resulted in team closing their innings at the score of 120 runs in 20 overs. Nakib Ahmed Barbhuiya was the chief wrecker, who bowled exceptionally well and picked 4 wickets in 4 overs affecting the batting line up of Tarun Sangha badly.
While chasing, Eleven Star fired in unison with all the players contributing significantly in the final chase. Opening batsman Makbul Chaudhary made 36 off 35 balls with 5 boundaries, which was followed by Rezaul Korim Laskar and Masoom Ahmed, who scored 27 and 37 runs respectively. Team chased down the target in 19.3 overs with the loss of 3 wickets.
Eleven Star won the final by 7 wickets against Tarun Sangha.
