Burhani Cricket Cup 2018 was played between 25th Mar.’18 to 1st May.’18 at Hyderabad among 6 teams from various verticals.
An all-important final of this much cherished tournament was held on 1st May’18 at KRR Cricket Ground - Hyderabad between Atomic XI and Mohammadi Cricket Club.
Electing to bat, Atomic XI started well with Hussain Dahodwalal and Quaid Zohar scoring 25 and 47 runs respectively at good pace. Though team lost some important wickets in middle overs, Hussain Topiwala, who came to bat on 6th position took charge and smashed important 35 runs in 31 balls helping team reach at a good score of 153 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Shabbir Rangoonwala from Mohammadi Cricket Club, who picked 3 wickets in 4 overs.
While replying, Mohammadi Cricket Club didn’t get chance to score well as team went on losing wickets at regular intervals. None of the players managed to stay for long on crease. Highest scorers were Hussain Netterwala and Joher with 23 and 19 runs respectively. Rest of the players failed to cross 10’s and Atomic XI bowled out their rivals for 108 runs to win the match. Hussain Topiwala shined again with his wonderful bowling skills as he scalped important 3 wickets in 4 overs giving 19 runs.
