Mirani Cup (Anjar) 2018 was organized by ILS Anjar Group was played between 21st Apr.’18 to 29th Apr.’18 at Anjar- Kachchh.
38 teams from various cities of Kachchh participated in this tournament. The crucial final of this much cherished tournament was played between ILS A and Maruti XI A on 29th Apr.’18 at Anjar Municipal Stadium - Anjar.
Maruti XI A won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, they restricted ILS A at the low score of 82 runs in 15 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. ILS A failed to get a good start and wickets started to fall from early overs. Highest scorers were Viral Ganatra and Prakash Thacker, who made 27 and 22 runs respectively. However, remaining players did not manage to cross 10’s and team closed their innings at the score of 82 runs. Dipesh Thackee from Maruti XI A bowled exceptionally well as he picked 3 wickets in 3 overs giving only 8 runs. Savan Thacker too picked 2 important wickets restricting ILS A from scoring well.
While chasing, despite facing some early blows, Maruti XI A chased down the target in 11.4 overs by losing 7 wickets. Raghu played a very good innings and made 27 runs off 21 balls with 2 boundaries and 2 sixes. Other major contribution came from Savan Thacker, who chipped in with important 16 runs in 8 balls during crucial overs. Pick of the bowlers was Mayur Thacker from ILS A, who scalped 3 wickets in 3 overs.
