Dr. Vishnuvardhan U-16 Cricket Cup 2018 was organized between 9th Apr.’18 to 27th Apr.’18 at Jaynagar.
Out of 16 participant teams, the final was played between Cambridge Cricketers and Magadi Cricketers on 27th Apr.’18 at Jaynagar National College Ground.
Electing to bat, Cambridge Cricketers made 119 runs in 19.5 overs after losing all the wickets. Highest scorers were Ayush Kumar B and Viraj A, who made 54 and 32 runs respectively at good pace. Remaining players did not manage to make a mark and team went on losing wickets at regular intervals. Bowling highlight of the innings was Vashisth from Magadi Cricketers, who scalped 4 wickets in 4 overs giving only 19 runs.
After an average batting performance, Cambridge Cricketers came back with a strong bowling attack. None of the players from Magadi Cricketers managed to stand for long on crease. Raghav was the highest scorer with 15 runs. Team collapsed at the score of 69 runs in 17.5 overs. All the bowlers of Cambridge Cricketers did a good job, but pick of the bowlers was Chinmay, who picked 3 wickets in 4 overs by giving only 6 runs.
Cambridge Cricketers won the final by a huge margin of 50 runs against Magadi Cricketers in Dr. Vishnuvardhan U-16 Cricket Cup 2018.
